A Perth man has been jailed for seriously injuring a 14-month-old girl by putting her in a clothes dryer and turning it on to give her a "fun" time.

Samuel Marc Barnes Siddall, 21, of Beldon, was on Wednesday sentenced in Joondalup Magistrates Court to eight months jail.

He previously pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm to his girlfriend's daughter on May 25.

The court was told Siddall put the toddler in the dryer and turned it on for about two minutes "just for fun".

Magistrate Richard Bayly said a term of imprisonment was the only option for such a serious matter.

He did that "just for fun" and gets 8 months of jailtime? :rifle: he'll do it again to another child if he gets loose again. :(

The guy is definitely crazy. He shouldnt be near any child as he might cause harm to them? Next time the kid who he will be with wont be lucky. he ought to be in prison LONGER than that.. desrve him right to put him in the GIANT dryer.. ugh!

i hope the kid is fine now.. :(
 
wow, He had his guts to do this 3 month old baby in heat dryer without remorse..He has his mental problem, and his personality wont deal with any baby around.. thats sad!

I feel sorry for little baby had suffered from burned skin. Plus baby who grow with some scar burn from feet to head for rest of her lifetime..

EIGHT STINKING MONTHS in a normal jail? He ought go to prison because of the severity of the situation like physically harming a child or an adult. So damn wrong!! The mother TRUSTED her young and stupid boyfriend to babysit her daughter just for few hours!! I wonder if the child felt trumaticized by the incident? Good (bleep) riddance!

Damn, just when you think you've heard it all. That poor child. I can't believe they'd give him bail. A No-Contact Order is automatically given in a case like that yes. But it doesn't stop him from going there & creating more harm or even death. Another bad thing about it is, he has to be caught by the police there.
 
This guy is a sicko. He clearly has serious personality problems. Anybody would know what would happen to babies when you put them in the dryer.

The only explaination for his actions I can think of is that he must enjoy hurting others. 8 months is too short for this sicko. I fear for others when he gets out.

Now I feel sick.
