Well, I got new Hearing Aids...

I've abandoned BTEs for RICs. That's my Audi can't change the tube.

Oh, okay. I'm unfamiliar myself with the RIC tubing, so that makes sense. :ty:

Have fun trying these new ones out. I hope you enjoy them!

I think the Q RICs are supposed to be more water resistant than the SP or UP, sorry i didn't realize you had the RIC

I don't think I can get the tubes bigger, they're RIC. I will talk to my Audi next week for the follow up about that, though :)

My husband also has RIC, and the receiver tubes should come in lengths, 1, 2, and 3, so you probably need the next longest size from what they gave you.

Thanks Bottesini! I will be talking to my Audi about that for sure!

Yes glad you like them but when reading all the materials for the Q since I'm getting one myself no where did it say waterproof only water resistant...i would not by any means go swimming with your hearing aids on.

When I said swimming, I meant splashing around in the pool and doggy paddling XD

Even that is a bad idea..they mean water resistant as in you can wear them and get caught in the rain and sweating and stuff..maybe through a sprinkler..but i would never wear them actually being in a pool. I dunno how much experience you have with hearing aids but I've gone through a good few sets and I would nottttt risk putting them in the water. They aren't covered for water damage if something happens.

Been wearing hearing aids for 10 years. I may or may not swim.

I have to agree with the other posters, all over the website they say that the Q's are water resistant-that means they are ok if you get caught in a light rain shower, not swimming, even doggy paddling around a pool. Are you really willing to risk $7000 just to try swimming with them in?

I came across a Naida CRT the other day, I don't quite realise how tiny they were especially next to my Naida UP. It's like there's nothing there of the Naida. Smart, that they can get so tiny now.

I wouldn't even wear them splashing around a pool. My really old school Naidas are "water resistant" which means I don't have to immediately take them out if I'm caught in rain but I absolutely can't wear them swimming or even near a pool.
I really wish I could wear RICs but I'm stuck with enormous SP or UP BTEs.

I really wish hearing aid makers would spend a bit more time on people with severe to profound hearing loss.
Siemens makes a completely waterproof hearing aid but it is for mild to moderate hearing loss only. Phonak makes the H2O version but again, it is only for less severe hearing losses.

Totally agree!
I want Phonak to be kicked in the arse and realise that people who are profoundly deaf want a more water proof hearing aids.

The SPs and UPs altho big, are still tiny and are smaller then a cochlear implant. SPs and UPs are tiny compared to what severe to profound users had to wear 10 years ago.
