Wedding announcments with unfortunate last names

I was going to post this with my thread of outrageous baby names but I wanted to be sure people saw it as it so funny.
 
OMG! Just wow! These couple wants to be 100% fair so both end up keeping their last name only to get laughed at. Sometimes being unfair has its own benefits.
 
Not so much about being 'fair' in keeping or not keeping their last names- that's how wedding announcements are done- Woman's name then man's name. What they do with it after the marriage is completely different as noted in the article- some dropped their maiden name (and I'm sure sometimes the man takes on the woman's name and drops HIS).

I know of an old friend of my family (she used to work for my dad)- when she married- she married someone with the exact same last name as hers- no relation anywhere as far as they knew. I think she saved a bundle on changing her name lol although she might have had a time of it when changing her marital status-- "you listed married but why is your name still the same?" "it isn't!" "but ..." "It's the same name!" *scratches head*.

I had an aunt and uncle who only had one different in their last name . I heard of men taking their wife name if there are no men in her family to carry on their last name. I have no idea how people are left on my dad side to carry on his family name.
 
Sadly my family name will die out with my generation :(. Dad was the only boy- but of the three of us only my sister married and had kids. There may be other branches of dad's family with the same last name though.
 
Yeah, it can be sad when family tree die down and become extinct. :(

I'm not too old, but I already had mine, I'm done.
 
Yep... I'm too old to have kids... well technically I'm not that old but can't have 'em anyway unless I adopt. Ironic that the two boys in my family (me and bro) both did not marry and have kids but sister did.
 
this is one of the reasons why I liked watching Jay Leno... with all of the funny newspaper clippings
 
There aren't many options for me to marry a woman with my last name. My last name and girls names are tricky to match up. There are very few that actually work.
 
Why complicate with last name? Whats the point, really? Just to be equal? I think it is lame IMO.

I think it is much easier and less confusing. Don't forget many place have space limitation on last name when filling out forms. My wife don't give damn about her last name, stick with my last name so I am all good to go. She likes my last name because it was so simple yet many people can't spell it right and even remember simple last name. LOL.

No body worry if their last or first name will sound good when they get married , look at the funny names I posted . These couple could care less

Uh..

how 'well they match up' should not matter if you love the girl and the girl loves you. Go get an entirely new last name if you are that worried about 'perfectly matching' first and last names.

You set yourself up to fail with that kind of a mindset.

Yeah , look at couple last names Wang-Holder , they did not let their last names stop them from getting married and I bet people will remember their last names with no problem . :giggle:
