I use AOL To Check my emails.. I have virus scanner for email and on computer McAfee and Norton Firewall.

I use webmail when I'm on the road, but Outlook Express when home -- I have anti-virus program and have set my email program not to open attachments at all. You know that you have that option open? :)

Let me explain again,
If you buy Anti-Norton and you don't want to subscribe Norton, you don't get LiveUpdate. You'll get lots of Quarantine.
I subscribed Norton for LiveUpdate, Its working for 4 yrs. When I opened Outlook, Norton can scan any email with attachements at my ISP before they send any emails to my Outlook. I said......about 25 Quarantine in attachemnets before I open some attachments. Its working for me honest. My friend used Norton and not subscribe LiveUpdate. He got some Quarantine in his PC. He fed up and did subscribe LiveUpdate and went fine since few months.

But I have no idea why you got lots viruses/worms with Norton. Maybe you don't follow instructions or not subscribed or other reasons.

So, good luck on your any anti-virus programs.

Hey you, I undy that you secured about this.. Are you sure about this highly protection?
I'm being honestly with you.. I've got virus ton of numbers.. which I'm using norton anti-virus.. Why didn't catch 100% protection from virus?? I was very totally upsetting about thier system because of isn't suitable being honestly the company provides. I decide to turned it off the norton anti-virus and download another site called "spysweeper" Spysweeper discovered that we have tons of virus. Total 33 virus and 2 spy hacking into my puter under hotwire/adware.
Glady that spy sweeper wiping whole this system and had cleaning it up.
Everything went back normaly.. No more retard my computer!

Please be careful with yours.. Just try another.. anti-virus for your test and to see if finds more hiding virus.. Looks alike "Invisible virus" which norton cannot see invisible virus.
so.. Hopefully if your puter is 100% safe.. that's fine with me.. Your mouth is yours.. If not take their words.. in case "suggestion"
Okay..
Hafta fun.

Thanks for adversiting Spy Sweeper. I tried it and liked it so much. It found only 8 adware softwares into my computer. They are removed already. Damn Adware softwares!! Even though I still have Norton and Liveupdate, it may be overlook "invisible" files like Bullymom mentioned. Spy Sweeper found "invisible" files/softwares and removed them all. I am glad that my computer is protected by both Norton and Spy Sweeper.

WebMail because it is safer! Most email programs I tried usually opens the attachments without you knowing into the temp folder and sits there.
webmail is dangerous too... anyone can send you html virus infected email.

outlook is worst program. get TEXT-based email client that support p0p3.

I use old eudoura versions.

I'm also a MAC user which tends to not get virus' but, while I agree that webmail is definately safer, I prefer user programs such out Outlook for personal reasons. Right now on my PC at work I use Mozilla Thunderbird which is pretty neat and it's also not as targeted for viruses as Outlook Express or any other Microsoft programs. Also what helps protect against viruses is setting your email to plain text and constantly running your windows updates.

poor you. :(

Anyway, I had my reason why I don't like webmail because it usually come with banner ads. And I had to clean up the junk mail when I received SPAM. What a waste time. At least, I need wemail for a trap toward SPAM. :) ~ heh heh
