WebMail because it is safer! Most email programs I tried usually opens the attachments without you knowing into the temp folder and sits there.

Deaf258, you are truly right about attachment from email program. And high risk for catch any infected file.

That why I prefer webmail as safe reason.

I understand about webmail for attachments. But they can take your email address for spam/junk mails!!!

I prefer Email. I using 2003 Norton Anti-virus to check emails before I open some attachments. We know that USA and Canada are working on anti-spam programs. They already made some laws. Cross my fingers!!

They already have spam remover option on yahoo and hotmail. They have that Junk/bulk box which I just click empty and no need to go thru it all.

I have several free web-based E-mail providers (MochaMail, Yahoo and MyRealBox) I use PopPeeper that lets me to check/delete E-mail messages right away. :)

More webmail have spam blocker. some are included anti-virus protection.

Myself, don't trust Norton 100%. That program failed to recognize one infected file in my computer for long time till Trend Micro found it. There is no best program for anti-virus in the world right now.

Myself, feel safe for checking email thru webmail with Spam block feature. Less spam than my AOL experience.

Test with Yahoo webmail as fun. Much better than last few years ago. Thanks to spam blocker feature. Really, I don't use yahoo webmail. Prefered other webmail I paid than popular/free webmail.

I use Mac e-mail program. It's No. 1 safety in the entire world. Heck, I don't need that dadburn anti-virus program. :P yak yak!

No, Mac can be hurt. Sadly, all worm users are targets ONLY on PC. That's why all certain files cannot be open for Mac. :)

Do you using live update Norton often? I do, when I heard from news about new virus then I clicked Liveupdate Norton to download some virus/worm name then scan all folders. When I opened Outlook with Anti-Virus. The pop up screen and said that there is an attachment with name of virus so it can destory it and report it on my notepad. I paid every year for $30us (I think). Any viruses or worms never attack my pc since I bought pc for 7 yrs. Just more careful. I have no problem with Norton. Thank to Them.

Maybe you are right about

I know I said it before and I'll say it again, Norton doesn't do a great job in catching virus.! You can get better antivirus service for free than to pay 30 bucks a year.

Hey you, I undy that you secured about this.. Are you sure about this highly protection?
I'm being honestly with you.. I've got virus ton of numbers.. which I'm using norton anti-virus.. Why didn't catch 100% protection from virus?? I was very totally upsetting about thier system because of isn't suitable being honestly the company provides. I decide to turned it off the norton anti-virus and download another site called "spysweeper" Spysweeper discovered that we have tons of virus. Total 33 virus and 2 spy hacking into my puter under hotwire/adware.
Glady that spy sweeper wiping whole this system and had cleaning it up.
Everything went back normaly.. No more retard my computer!

Please be careful with yours.. Just try another.. anti-virus for your test and to see if finds more hiding virus.. Looks alike "Invisible virus" which norton cannot see invisible virus.
so.. Hopefully if your puter is 100% safe.. that's fine with me.. Your mouth is yours.. If not take their words.. in case "suggestion"
Okay..
Hafta fun.

Way to go! ur saying is well :thumb: Uddy how u feel. Same thing I have been thru. Got ONE infected file in my puter after I use Liveupdate often. Make me feel lousy and gasped for a while.
I remmy Deaf258's famous advice is scan your computer by any file by 2 or more ways like one software installed in the computer and scan from website for free. therefore it is double checking to make sure anything is OK.
My Norton 2003 Internet Security included anti-virus and firewall will expire this May. My heart is not really secure with Norton right now. Will look for which one is best recommend for antivirus and firewall (cuz of my cable modem).

I usually do the same thing. I've got Norton and McAfee. I also use McAfee's online scan. My Hotmail and Yahoo e-mail accounts also have virus-check included as well.

I use the webmail servers:

Earthlink WebMail with Network Anti-Virus System/Spamblocker. (2 accounts of mines and my gf)
Hotmail with Network Anti-Virus System/Spamblocker.
Yahoo with Network Anti-Virus System/Spamblocker.
Deespace Staff Mail (Secured Email server)

Earthlink caught porno webcam virus it's quartauted (sp?) it and I deleted it.

I don't trust any email programs forever!

Also I have AVG and ZoneAlarm with LinkSys NAT router (ZA communicated with NAT router for checking inbound and outbound protections).

I like e-mail program because it can do anything than what webmail offer. Of course, it's for an advanced user. Enough say.... :)
