Wasteful time fill out applied Many JOBS

I has gotten a straight no jobs for three and half years I frustrated that a lot of fill applied and resumes my DARS and I sent them out. I wanna work in Wal-Mart, Target, Lowie, IKEA, etc... for Stocker and part-time, but they didn't call me neither my DARS. Last time, Target dept. human resources has laid me off for I has any no reason, it was stuck around me here I has hard work fill apply out and nothing interview and hire me to work. Everyone from dept. stores who don't interest me because I'm deaf mother. :hmm:
 
Yea, I tried to get help from DARS too. I am working in a less than ideal place, but grateful to work. I am trying to find something better. I have the same results as you. Keep trying. Good luck! Maybe try another area, it may not be exactly what you want but keep trying.
 
I am struggling to find a job too, I finished college a year ago. I apply for many jobs but nobody reply. I did not put that I was deaf on my CV(resume) I will tell them if I ever get an interview
 
During 2007 years, I can't go back to the college my ex-husband prefer that I has worked in Target dept. store becuase we respsonible to be parent and support to our two children. I has been worked in Stocker position for one year, so I did changed to a new job in Cashier I signed up the contract with my human resource. But a few weeks later, they called me that need me go to see them in the meeting at Target store. They decided that without reason something I can't understand to their set up, they already laid me off. I lost health insurance for my two kds and mine. My ex didn't want me go back to college. I keep up look for jobs in store depts. I need to get an job. I didn't finish to do my college because I need to earn my purse from work, owe my loan student and health insurance for my two kids.
 
I do not know if you send out the (same) resume to some place - and maybe they feel you're over qualified, or under qualifiy.

I'd recommed you to contact with local job agency and have them to assist you to find a job. Or contact with department of rehabiltation. They'll do the job for you as well you do your part.


Contact with your friends/family and to see if their company is hiring?

Do you have your resume on a word file? Got a god cover letter? Where do you look for work? Craigslist, monster com annd other sites?
And it is actually a good idea not to say you are deaf until you show up for an interview. Try to keep communications by email or if necessary have a family member say you are out of the house but they will pass on any messages. Way too often if an employer knows you are deaf before they meet you then your resume gets filed in the trash. I learned from experience you get more interviews if you keep the deafness thing excluded until necessary.

Second that. As for the resume -you may want to change the "objective/goals" because not all of the same company shares the same objective/goals

one of the best tip I can give you - to check the requirements of the position, check out the duties. You can include them in your objective/goals

Move to west TX, they're in huge demand for job.

Yup.....plenty in North Texas too. South Texas (including Houston) is very overpopulated after Katrina.....That is why it is tough there.
