Warm in east coast

Really? Which town?

In a town between the Grand Canyon and Flagstaff. That was last night...tonight...dunno

-11 in Arizona ??? Recently? That doesn't seem possible. Unless way up in the mountains, but even so .. ? :eek3:

Oh it is possible in Northern AZ but very rare.

I thought it hot state

Not all of it. Northern AZ gets more snow than the Northeast almost every winter. It snowed up there in the last few days. However, it was so cold that it snowed in the desert as well. My family and friends down there have been complaining and posting pics of the cold weather and snow. I believe it was 25 degrees in Phoenix last night!!!!

I totally believe it, especially around the Flagstaff area where the mountains are. I was just shocked that it could be THAT cold so early in December. Even Minnesota, which some 1,000+ miles further north has not been hit with those temps yet. We will though, soon!

I use a essential oil based anti-parasite spray that has no chemicals. I also do a lot of raw garlic in the Summer and make sure their immune system is strong - a dog who has a lower immune system is more likely to be attractive to any kind of parasites. The oils in the non-chemical spray I use repel a variety of critters. We use the same spray on ourselves and we live in area with woods and water off the back of the house, outside the fence. We've has ticks in the house on the wall but not on the dogs.

I have never used any kind of chemical flea tick collars or drops with any of my dogs.

Next week it's supposed to get warm again here for December - 40's-

I tried an essential oil based anti-parasite spray has no chemicals but that doesn't work out here . The ticks are really bad in Ma . :(

Diatomaceous earth is not a chemical and does work well on fleas and ticks along with other pest...

WDYS! - I forgot you're in MA...

the diatomaceous earth Jezie mentions is something sold a lot of at the holistic pet supply shop where I worked. Many times it's a matter of combining things to get the most effective result.

If I remember correctly, diatomaceous earth is just crushed sea sediment so probably harmless; it is also the same stuff used in or as swimming pool filters....

Yeah 2 vets offices told that Frontline no longer kills ticks in Ma .

:hmm: didn't know that about the Frontline, never used it...I can see that though, as with other chemical drugs like antibiotics, that the target of the drug develops resistance

I hate to use chemicals on my dogs and they don't work 100 % . You can see the ticks jumping onto your dog while on a walk here ! YUCKY ! There are signs at parks warning people about deer ticks being out all year long .

I saw someone at the park the other day lying a bench like it was summer ... The crazy weather has some trees budding , a *****willow tree is in bloom now . But I bet we'll buried in snow not too far off, we had warm weather and people were thinking it would never snow . I think Mother Nature is getting senile !

I'll take it...I'm still trying to recover from last winter.....
