Today my wife and I along with our 3 year old son went to the Dollar store then Aldi and later WalMart. At walMart we separated as I wanted to look at a few things while my wife shopped and our son wanted to stay with momma. Well, a bit later I am looking for them when all the sudden a young girl is running down the isle freaking out for help and several management personnel come running from the back of the store. I am looking like WTF? so I follow suite and come to isle 10 where everyone is gathered, There is an elderly lady fallen out of her scooter on the floor, I observed she has a insulin pump on as well as oxygen. Although I don't know much on insulin pumps I pushed my way through to see if there was any need for CPR which wasn't at the time, apparently she just fainted 911 was on its way since this city is small everything including the hospital is less than 2 miles from anything. Since the isle was packed with gawkers, I told the personnel they needed to clear the isle for EMS and to ease the stress of the lady which they in turned did, since I wasn't needed I went on to find my wife and son. I was up near the entrance when the EMS got there, I was going to tell them where they were needed but there was a personnel already outside to lead them in. A short time later they were wheeling her out to the Ambulance.
I have noticed whenever there is an emergency here in town, there is always several police cars show up as well. But I feel safe knowing theyre there quickly when summoned. That was my excitement for the day.

I am glad someone with a brain was there , good job.
I hate it when I see people leave their shopping carts right in the hallway to the restroom in Marshall . If there is an emergency and a person is in a w/c and in the bathroom the shopping carts will be blocking their way. People do not think .

Good that it all ended up being pretty organized. The high school I went to allowed me to hemorrhage while expecting my mother to get off work an hour away and come sign me out. (!?!)

I was flying 3,000 with my baby and got sick on the plane with a high fever and in so much pain I was lying on the floor of the plane and not one stewardess tried to find out what wrong with me they just told me to get off the floor. The guy I was sitting next to was nice and did not mind me resting my head on his shoulder. I was burning up from my fever so sick I could eat or drink or take care of my baby. The stewardesses did nothing !

That story deserves your screen name...WHATDIDYOUSAY!

That is just crazy. As a human being I could never just ignore another in pain.

I was expecting to read this and hear something about how terrible they treat their employees and stuff... lol! You know you read that everywhere, so this is definitely not what I expected. :P I hope the elderly lady was okay. You know people, quick to stare at anything intense but always mindless on what to do... Just like rubber-neckers... AAAAAAAH I HATE THEM!!! I JUST WANT TO GET TO THE STORE!!! Traffic backed up 20 miles, you get up and see it's someone in a tiny little fender bender and nothing serious... Grrrrr... ANYWAY, I do hope she's okay. :( Like someone said, good thing you had the sense to tell them to clear the way... I'm sure they love getting to places where there's tons of people gawking.

Sono, thanks for sharing that story, for me it was a nice thing you did and a nice thing to read after some other sad stories-

I haven't been able to find out anything else on the lady. The door greeter that I normally say hi to was off that day so she had no clue what the actual emergency was ( they announce it over their walkies when on duty so all personnel knows that are working that day) but she hasn't heard anything negative so whatever it was, it seems all went well.
