Is there a chat program or something out there that would allow me to use my webcam to call a video phone? My friend is moving and doesnt have a webcam but she has her VP. I have a webcam, but no VP (not deaf). Is it possible for them to work together?

If you were rich, yup, it's possible, assuming you had an entire staff of creative computer geeks working on it. But offhand, I would say no.

That's interesting, Beo, at least to me, a tech dummy. A little off the point here, when this CCing of the Web Act commences, I am understanding from a pretty good source but don't quote me, lol: A TTY user will be able to call a VP user. Nice, huh, especially since there are tons of deaf folks who don't sign & don't plan to..... or well enough to use the VP. Neat, huh? From a tech POV, can you see it happening?

I'm a tech dummy, too, Tousi, so I wouldn't know, lol. I don't see the problem of calling a VP user through a TDD, since I think all it takes is the ISP number. Don't ask for more information, or I will break out in hives, hah. I am sure there are computer experts in this board and I wish to goodness we would hear more from them. A shy bunch, wouldn't you say?

careful- P3 is designed for deaf/hoh. if a hearing is caught using it- well not sure what to tell ya. just to log on to p3, you need a phone number and register as a deaf/hoh knowing sign language.:hmm:

If your friend has a computer you can Skype or IM video chat. If no computer then perhaps a library or other common area where your friend can access one? You can call her vp number using your phone, but of course, no video there. A terp go between isn't as nice as face to face vids when you miss your friend.

Good luck!
