Although this case is about a visually disabled person, it could have a big impact on the rights of people with any type of disability. From the article: "Refusal to implement or facilitate changes to make online games more accessible violates Americans with Disabilities Act, suit claims." --

Please take the time to post comments on the article's website, as many disgruntled tweens and teens are saying things like they want to shoot the Plaintiff or that the disabled shouldn't be using computers. Nice people Sony is aligned with...

Don't blame Sony for the idiotic words of prepubescent boys. Blame the boys. Sony has plenty of other things to concern themselves with. The fact that they make video game machines does not mean they endorse the words of foolish punks.

I cannot imagine how Sony can make video games more user friendly for visually impaired. Looks like someone is going for a quick payoff, but I might be overlooking something. I will go read the topic at Gamespot. Not sure I will post comments. Interesting topic to start your AllDeaf experience.

Yes - there are a lot of fools online out there but please don't make general statements like that about Sony when the topic is in the Gamespot forums! Don't assume that the folks making idiotic comments are teens either. There's a lot of stupid or insensitive adult gamers who just don't know any better.

It's not just Sony is being insensitive. Netflix and Amazon are VERY insensitive to Deaf ppl because they refuse to add subtitles to their online videos. It sucks but we can just give up.

Don't forget CBS. They also refuse to CC their online video content.
