Video Card & PSU "12V Rails" mean?

Hi Guys,

Do you know PSU (Power Supply Unit) and Video Card

I read GeForce 210 said "Power Supply Requirements 300 Watt Power Supply (with 18A on the +12V Rail)"

What mean "with 18A on the +12V Rail" ???

my PSU 350 watt had dual 12v1/10a and 12v2/15a, what mean toal 25a correct? I can use geforce 210 with PSU, I use calc usb, hd, dvd device, etc.. 305 watt or less no problem, Is it safe?

but I know single 12v, no problem but I don't understand about "12v rails"

any idea?

The rail is avoid from the short circuit and avoid increase amp or wires will overheat and melt wires down.

The most powerful GPU like HD video or gamer always have two PCI-E power.

Depend what kind of type CPU, RAM, number of HDDS/SSDs, motherboard, etc that PSU needs.

Some powerful GPU have 8 pins + 6 pins like mine.

I tired send to Zotac on e-mail three time nothing... I saw website "live chat", I talk him about GeForce 210 18a support to double 10a + 15a, I mean total 25a, support said YES!.. I understand I mean if 4 rial x 10a = 40a, if 10a 10a 15a mean 35a, etc.. I understand, but new PSU on 2012 no more rails, I saw any 20amp or more.. .I saw PSU 1600 watter had 12v / 117a !

New PSU still rails. Where did you see that they dont use rail anymore?
 
350 watt PSU? my god! It's not for high end gamer but, for MCE or Netflix is okay for 350 watt PSU.

mine is 750 watt PSU with single GPU for high end gamer. I will upgrade new motherboard with 2 GPU. upgrade 1,000 watt PSU

Same as mine too and my GPU is GeForce GTX 580, enough to max all games out, even AA too with decent FPS. It is pointless for me to get second GPU for now, except for future games that increase GPU hunger.
 
I not use games, only internet and business, becuase size is wrong... not work.. I bought GeForce 210 (very slow and cheap $30)

Geforce 5000-5100, 6000-6100, ... 200, 210, like x10

x10 = no fan - low watt up to 100 watt
x20 = maybe fan, up to 200 watt
...
...
if GeForce 580 = 220 watt requirement
more 550 watt psu about $500+
if GeForce 590 (dual) 270 watt requirement more 600 watt psu about $700+

It's dont mean no more rail. It's mean no MORE than 20 amps. That's mean max to 20 amps to avoid from melt wires/overheat.

The ultra? Good luck with it. I know a lot friends complained about Ultra PSU got failed and few of them blow up their HDD/DVD-burner.
 
 
 
you want buy new PSU 1000 watt? 1200 watt? you want 1600 watt?? you don't know... you will get bills electic MORE!!! MORE 1!! $$$$$$$$ forget it ... I had ITX with 80 watt, cheap bills!! lol...

huh? I paid $17 to $26 electric bill for home alone trailer/home mobile with 750 watt PSU. will plan to get 1000w PSU. my GPU alway power hunger for high end gamer.
