Very cold!!!!

Wow!!

Here about 60 temp! :\

You make me laugh. 11c(52f) is wonderful weather! I hate this heat in south FL, I got my a/c turned up. Can't wait to move north where ill get to enjoy 4 seasons and not need much a/c!

I agree with the fact that we had to turn on the a/c, but I will never move back to a more northern climate. Spent 13 years in Missouri (misery). That was terrible. Last winter we had 6 feet of snow dumped with layers of sleet and ice in between. I'll take south Florida.

Right now the temp on my desktop is 44 degrees F at 2:18 am in Chico, CA that is cold enuff for us... but we will planning to move to Eureka, CA next year but who knows....

What about north Georgia(near Atlanta) wonderful weather there, like 50 degrees in the winter, 70 degrees in the spring/fall? Save a bundle on a/c bills 8 months of the year. Might get a few snowflakes here and there, but there's almost no winter otherwise. Half the cost(house and otherwise) of living in south FL and no hurricanes!

Was the cheap houses and low cost of living why you lived in Missouri? I am considering moving to Pennsylvania unless house prices drop some more in Georgia. Decent houses in south FL will set you back a quarter million! In north Georgia, it's $125k. In northwest PA, it's just $50k!

We went to Missouri to get away from my mother-in-law and to be closer to my brother. Now, my mother-in-law is in need of a lot of help and so we moved back. At least we don't have to buy or rent a home. We live in her house and it will be ours when she is gone.

Plan to sell the house after you inherit it and buy a twice bigger house in north Georgia? Ever been to that state or know anyone who has? Hows the weather and living there?

I have another brother who lives in Georgia and personally that's too close for comfort. I want to stay as far from him as possible. He is a leech and will suck you dry. Money, happiness and anything else he can get. There were also other issues while growing up that I will not get into here, just know he had to get into some counseling for.

I will stay here in this house. It has survived 7 major hurricanes with little or no damage. We live on the flight path to a MAJOR airport and never hear the planes going overhead. The house was built with concrete cnder blocks, rebar and then the spaces were filled with concrete. It is over 6 inches thick. When we had out telephone installed, the guy from phone company broke or burned up 3 drills and bits just drilling the hole for the line.:giggle:

It is insulated enough that we only have a window unit A/C to cool the whole house down.

My brother in Georgia has had to deal with a lot of ice and flooding. That's not for me. We live about 10-15 miles inland from the coast.

My condolences your bro doesn't get along. I don't get along with my sister but she isn't a leech. We just ignore each other. She's in college now and may be living several states away after college. Im trying to get my parents to relocate with me. They hate the cold, but might consider north Georgia an option as it rarely gets cold there. Our house runs us over $400 a month and the a/c is a big part of this. Im hoping my parents will understand the advantages of more temperate weather. Also when/if they sell this house, they can buy a nice house for $100k and pocket the rest of the money for their retirement.

I like cold weather - it gives me reason to wear my favorite sweater and scarf. (enter SuperDorkWoman!)

Its 40 degrees F and its not cold enough... I don't see anything wrong with cold. There are positive about cold, you could get yourself warm by cloth up, while can't do that when it is HOT because no matter how naked you are and still too hot yuck! There won't be any bugs, mosquitoes, black fly, etc bugging all over you. Roaches stay small up here and if its Florida here it would be HUGE, again yuck!

Im disappointed that I haven't seen snow and we should have snow by last October. Come on snowman, where are you?

Don't feel bad DHB - we see snow down here only once every 2-3 years.

We reached a low of 46 degrees last night. Right now at 12:23 it is a cool 66. Not bad for south Florida. We are also under a fire warning/advisory.

Usually, it's 70-85 degrees so I welcome the cooler weather. Those living a little further north are lucky in that they enjoy 50 degree weather all the time except in summer.
