Gossip is everywhere...u probably arent aware that hearing people gossip cuz you cant hear them do it but trust me, they do.

Yeah I agree about not all deaf are like that.
This thread I assume is about venting out about deaf people, so I have two right now both is co-worker 1 is on different shift, when I first met lady number 1 she was totally judging me for having CI and accused me of lying that HA doesn't work for me and gave me dirty look the whole time, damn. And other one lady number 2 she work with me but she's dumb, one time when I was packing 12 picks in each little boxes, the shipping papers said to do 1,000 boxes so I stack the boxes up in 10 and she came to help out and I said "it said 1,000 so put stack in row of 20 and 5 rows (10 boxes in a stack, 20 stacks in 5 rows equal 1k) and she was all "No its 23, 23 23 like 23 rows she said do 23 mean 500 boxes" I was like "Huh? You can't be serious" and she was dead serious and I was like "ok.... wow"
And today I was checking out motorcycle in parking lot to look for model name of HD and she asked me what I'm doing I said "oh just look for model name of HD" and she said "its HD" I said "yeah I know but I meant the MODEL name like sportser, fat boy, etc" and she stomp and said "its HD, see, it have word said HD mean its HD" I said "no.... the model name of HD" and she get angry and said "HD!" so I gave up and walked back inside building.
There's a lot thing about her I was puzzled and little shocked about, and she seem so confident and act cocky like she's smartest person in world and get mad at me if I even tiny bit implied that she was wrong or don't understand what I meant she's stubborn as hell and look away and repeating what she said few more time and walk away. What's wrong with her? She's in her 40's but act like kid....?

I've got this few time they told me I'm like hearing person trapped in deaf body because I act nothing like deaf person and I get asked million time if I'm hearing and my fiance was deaf when it was other way around, its weird.
 
Something doesn't fit right with me, You had told those same deaf people "million of times" that you do not do friends with benefits? that you're an vegetarian? that you do not drink or do drugs?

Let's be real here, Maybe you're just hanging out with the wrong type of crowd that had put amount of pressure on you, but it doesn't mean we are all like them.

Yes, there are some ignorant deaf people out there, there are also ignorant hearing people as well.

It depend on what kind of friends you have and what is your relationship with them. Not all friends are close or actually really care about each other this is something that each person must decide for himself or herself by the best interests at heart. ;)

I drank it as slip and realized it isnt water.. I yelled at them and who freaking did that? they said nothing.. I'm like WHAT THE UNTRUSTY FRIENDS YA ALL!!!

and worst part that deaf ppl never grow up.. QUIT GOSSIP! i dont care it is small world for deaf ppl.. get a life! who cares to know about someone else's life? it isnt their businesses to know..

and list go on..

I realized that hearing ppl are better for me (yea i'm deaf but i hate deaf ppl.. ) my roommmate is hearing and seems to get along very well with me.. and i get along with several hard of hearing ppl.. they are freaking alot better than deaf ppl..

First of all, I am so sorry you are having trouble with some deaf people. But please don't say "ALL" deaf and hoh are immature. Yes some are immature and some are mature, but remember that same goes to hearing people as well can be immature just like some deaf people. I just think you hang out with the wrong crowd of deaf people that treated you badly and not show any respects. I know I have my share of meetng and trusting the wrong deaf and hoh as well as hearing people for treating me like crap. But I am always such a forgiving person. But that don't means all deaf people are 110% bad people. I do understand your feelings. I also do get along well with hearing people as well too. But Hearing people do gossips too. So I see deaf and hearing people are no different from each other. Try keep meeting more deaf people, you might never know one of them might be right for you to hang out with you as a real friend that are mature and caring. You have to give people the benfit of a doubt. Take your time, But I don't expect you to trust them right away. Go at your own pace when you feel ready to trust someone. Life can take a unexpect surprise. :) :cool2:

Just thinking about it..I have been around very very immature deaf people at Gallaudet but none of them did any of those things that those deaf people did to Taurus.

The only immature actions they did was to gossip or backstab other people. :dunno:

or trying to break some couples up and cause troubles for some as I remember back at school. I was like crikey why cant they mind their own business and stay out of other businesses and keep their nose clean? sheesh! that was so immature of them to do that. sigh!

That's horrible that your so called friends didn't respect you, Taurus. They could have put you in danger with spiking your drinks, and the sexual harassment is just out of control. I think you need to get a third party involved for this since it has happened on a repeated basis with your pleas for them to stop. You are better off without them, trust me. Forget the deaf thing, honey, your "friends" simply need a lesson in boundaries and respect!

I worry about your personal safety more than what you are saying here about deaf peeps in general. I sense it's more anger at having your boundaries violated often than it is really about any deaf issue.

Can't put all deafies into one basket. There are bvariations like any other group. Plenty of college age youth act up like this.....some go overboard...the meat in your food is really low.
Hence the word 'sophomoric'....acting like morons.
As for above 'skullpost'..... that is one thing I find more often in deaf world than mainstream.......tend to get off track and you can't get the person back on track......maybe cuz lack the specific words but even when fluent english some tend to just go running down the wrong track....sometimes on purpose, like when fighting....and can't admit wrong...would rather go down wrong track than stop and verify and apologize, move on, etc....it's easy and common. No need to get all defensive. It's a common thing.
OK.......Taurus....just find new friends-avoid the morons.

Personally... I really hate *some* 'anti-deaf' deaf people always complain about everything over Deaf community. "Hearing-people-is-better-than-thou-all!" crap is not WHAT you think. Geez, you have no idea how deafness is speical, really!

Only if hearing parents don't treat deaf teen/adult children like they are still kids, then probably many Deaf people will be a little more like hearing people. I mean, think about it!

My mom won't allow me to be alone in my house, while *some* other parents allow them, until I am almost 13 years old because of my deafness concern. My mom stopped treated me like I am still child until I was only 18 years old, I am may still act like childish, sometimes, I can be immature sometimes.

You see?

That's why many deaf people are like that, as my opinion. Of course, not all deaf people. :)

What's more?
Only if some hearing people understand disablity people more better. Think of some other countries have best service for any disablity people. Then, it wont have any problem at all, believe me. :)

Just... watch your words. None of us want to hear "oh-so-how-deafness-SUCK" crappy thing. ... ... Really. ^_^

Been down that road when ex friend steal my boyfriends. That why I end up lose my respect for that person. But we back friends again so one step at a time.

or they are jealous and they wanted the Love relationship so they steal the person away but that doesnt work that way. I have seen that happen and it basically ruint the relationship and hurt the reputation as well.

Like it is all due to peer pressure. see I am better than them. come with me? blah blah. Just gotta stay firm on your ground and say no and ignore them. Be Strong! :)

Sometimes ... I feel like Taurus is my deaf sister or something, lol. I totally agree with her. I can certainly empathize with her using my experiences at the dumbass deaf school.

Pre-1997 and post-2003, for the win! When I was there in the hearing world .... where I can use my voice all I want to (and use SimCom) ..... where I didn't have to see the dumb kids at the deaf school (and I bet the same goes for Gally) using the sign for "turning off your voice" .......

I have longed for those days back when I suffered through those years at the deaf school - and I got it. Never again will I even step in ISD campus. And, no I won't even experience "culture shock" if I ever step in Gally campus - it'd be a deja vu. *yawn*

99.99% impossible for me to find a deaf guy that's single, cute, MATURE, and age-approximate .... so I stuck with hearing guys instead.

I'd recommend that any deafie who feels that way while in NTID or Gally should quit and transfer to another university, local or state. Yes, there are some drawbacks like having VR pay for interpreters and such, but the way I see it, it's so much worth it. You won't have to put up with that deafie gossipy crap.
