Vardon Family to lose Extreme Makeover House

You are lacks to make information, not all countries are way like that when they offers universal heath care.

Universal health care means allows government to have power to control on medical cost and make less to spend on GDP.

I'm talking about well-developed nations... not some poor-ass countries

that's the problem. what tax are you talking about? income tax? corporate tax? property tax? Denmark ranks highest in income tax - about 68%. and USA leads the highest corporate tax rate in the world - about 40%.

My info is not illed because I'm not speaking of specific country. Generally - well-developed nations with universal health care or similar tend to have a very high tax rate.... compared to USA.

I'm talking about income tax, not everyone own property or own business.

Yup, Almost all European countries have high tax rate but they are varies based on income.

In US, don't need be surprised that you included health insurance and it would around over 30%, depends on type of insurance.

If in 8 years ago then yup, health care in US rocks because of cheaper to buy insurance but... now, meh....

For me, I'm personally prefer capitalism health care over universal or social coverage, however I wish it would more cheaper.

exactly.. for those unfortunate people... the riches has to pay for it. Sorry if I sound like a cold heart bastard but I think that's wrong. I don't think the riches have to pay for everything. I'm ok with "financial assistance" just to help them to get back to their feet but I'm just against the concept of welfare system.

but yes you're right - our healthcare system ought to be affordable for many. In order to do that - we just need to make it less litigious for medical sector.

Yup, USA is used to be pure capitalism until Great Depression occurred and FDR invented SS, SS is part of socialism but we still need SS and medicare/medicaid for Americans who don't have job or insurance.

What you means about litigious? lawsuit?

Now, inflation for medical cost is very high.

I'm trying find job in construction because of better pays and better benefits but recession has been killed it.

yes litigious = lawsuits. Malpractice insurance cost got way too high which is why medical cost is also high. Time to put a cap on it. :mad2:

a job in construction? yea it's a very good pay... very good. good luck finding available spot, dude.

Oh interesting...

Yup, I will find it in later when recession is over or slimmer down into recover, however I will off to college as well.

Unfortunately in the last administration the states have started putting a socialist twist onto the capitalist healthcare system by requiring that ALL employers offer health insurance coverage to their employees. This cut deeply into the profits of many small buisnesses and therefore the cost of products and services rose as well as the employees getting more money taken from their paycheck by their employer to cover a part of this health insurance. Some simply couldnt afford to cover the amount of employees they had, so they let go of the part-time student staff.

So now you know why that $3.00 burger really costs $5.00. Its not just taxes. You're having to pay for part of that cooks health insurance whether or not you have any coverage yourself.

Also due to the rising costs of healthcare and the fact that many ER rooms are getting more and more patients without insurance that simply just cannot afford to pay for necessary medical care, more and more hospitals are being built WITHOUT an ER to prevent the hospital from losing money for unpaid services in the ER.

It is getting quite ridiculous. In Washington State, you cannot buy cold medicine without a prescription from a doctor. What used to be a quick 15 minute run to the store and a $5-6 cost of relief now becomes a hour to two hour long journey and a $60 cost of relief all because of a law used to crack down on meth users. Now people won't be stealing sudafed for meth, they'll be stealing it simply because they cannot afford it, nor can they afford to miss word due to their cold.

Not here. What we do here is we put all the cold medicines behind the pharmacy counter now in a locked cabinet. The medicines still cost only $5-6 and you still do not need a prescription, but you are now limited to two packages of one specific cold medicine a month. All the pharmacies also have a database on their computers on which they can track how much cold medicine you have bought each month (they ask for your ID and they put your name and ID # or Social Security # into the computer database), to make sure you are not going from pharmacy to pharmacy to get more and more cold medicines (for example: you go to HEB pharmacy to get two packages of Sudafed, then you run to Walgreen's to get another two packages of that same medicine, and then you go over to Wal*Mart for ANOTHER two packages of the same stuff, and so on). They do this to prevent you from piling up/stocking up on enough cold medicine to make meth and to run a meth lab. That's all.

And, a cold doesn't make you miss work, anyways. Get real. I get a cold, and when I get a cold, I have it for WEEKS on end. If I had a job and I had to miss work due to my cold, I would not have a job anymore. A cold is not a flu, it is not bronchitis, it is not cancer. Please do not exaggerate. If you can't afford a cold, start washing your hands often, and start wearing a mask.

Unfortunately, my Dad passed away on Dec 3rd, Wednesday night. His house was closing date, Dec 7th. The State took over the deed on that house to pay all of his medical expense.

I am SO sorry to hear about your dad's loss. Please accept my condolences to you and your family.
