Guess you haven't read anything I've posted.

The foresight of Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, James Madison, Thomas Paine, et al. allow me the right to say those things. All of those men, by the way, were against having a standing national army and not for dissimilar reasons as my own.

The soldiers who died in Iraq protected your "right" to earn more money in the stock market. That's about it.

Reagan is, without a doubt, the worst president to ever preside over this country. His presidency was an 8-year wet dream for the wealthy elite. He ruined this country; it just took 30 years for you brainiacs to figure it out and then point the finger at a black man.

No thanks, I would prefer to agree to disagree and let this tread die. Your comments have hurt many ADers, I have received their emails and PMs in the last couple of hours. I won't go into the details because that is forbidden plus I would prefer not to extend their pain. Feel free to believe as you wish.

Oh, yeah. Iraq was a huge threat to freedom of speech!

We have more of a threat to freedoms of all kinds living right here in the United States as citizens than Iraq ever posed.

My words hurt because they are true. I'm sorry if you and others won't accept that, but better to speak the truth to such destructive ignorance. If they do not wish to experience such pain, I say to them: educate yourself. If these "many ADers" feel so hurt and wronged, they are welcome to address me directly, either in this thread or in PM. Just by bringing up the fact that you've received their messages and PMs, you are attempting to use their pain for argumentative points. Very noble of you. :roll:

You are certainly free to believe that jillio. I disagree and I am certainly entitled to my opinion as well. I expressed my feelings on the issue and agreed to disagree out of respect for others. I don't think a debate as nasty as this is good for anyone.

Americans have swallowed whole the concept of our troops “protecting our freedom” without ever once asking “how, how does killing foreigners in Iraq or Afghanistan protect our freedom?

While it is true that the existence of our military acts to deter nations from invading our shores, credit really should go more to our nuclear arsenal and military technology than to National Guardsman who find themselves shooting at Iraqis.

American soldiers are, after all, human beings with hopes and dreams of their own. One may legitimately disagree with the government's goals and/or hate the manner in which it is using (or abusing) the military, but such opposition should not be transferred to individual soldiers so long as those soldiers have acted honorably.
 
Well..... Here's already getting uglier..... I don't think I am going to ask something in this thread like that. Instead of that, I ask another ones.

What do you want soldiers to do, now, exactly what? And, how will they supposedly do now? Bring them home, okay, I get it. But, I mean, what's next?

In additional note... if WWIII is coming, what do you exactly want to do with soldiers in future?
