Silentwolfdog-- God believes in Justice and Righteous, after all that's His law.

We have laws here too, Our law permits death penalty, and Gitmo prisoners deserved the death penalty of murdering so many people.

And Byrdie714, Those Gitmo prisoners are not only Muslims but Christians too, but majority are Muslims.

What if the shoe was on the other foot and it was one of your relatives that was killed by these guys?

And you never answered my question which was what if it was one of your relatives that were killed by these guys?

Somewhere in the bible that says, we can kill the human who killed the human because that murderer "violated" God's image? Not sure....

In old test, it is known as "eye for eye" but in new test, Jesus changed and revolutionized the love for others - "turn the other cheek" and "let he who without sin cast the first stone"

I don't believe in "an eye for an eye" philosophy. I am not going down to their level. I can't live forever knowing I have killed a human being through a death penalty just because s/he did something bad.
Forgiveness is something all of us have to learn and live with. I do believe that's what God also want from us. Or otherwise hate and bitterness will just live on.

"An eye for an eye, and soon the whole world is blind" Gandhi

I must be in the minority then.

I believe in the death penalty. As I asked in my previous post and no one is willing to answer is what if it was one of your relatives were killed by these mad men?

Then you would advocate the government seeking the death penalty.

We are not stooping down to their level, we are seeking justice for the victims of the tragedy-- all 3000 of them. All innocent.

I hope these guys fry.....

As an answer for your question. I will be biting my hand, but no I do not wish death penalty on those guys if that happened to my family as well. That's too much like a revenge rather than justice. As I have said before, I can't live forever knowing I have killed those guys as well. I am not going to corrupt my own soul just for the sake of revenge. And I will only leave their fate to God.

That question was answered, Byrdie. I myself was one of those answering.

I disagree that the system is using violence to eradicate/punish, etc it; there are behaviors exhibited that are so egregious, and heinous that those who exhibit same are not fit to live amongst us. I, personally, have no problem casting the first stone, as it were, in this specific arena. Mail me that remote switch and at midnight, there will be one less sub-human on earth! Lol....

Hmmmm, what's this about, "reviving"?

Most of you know that I am a staunch believer in death penalty. However.... due to government's improper and secretive proceeding, I cannot support death penalty for Gitmo prisoners.

Has it occured that maybe if it was an open procedure that it would be a threat to our national security?

They did not have sufficient legal representations and things were not done by the book. They can be tried at War Tribunal Court but instead - they're being tried at our military tribunal court. We both know Gitmo prisoners underwent cruel and excessive tortures (water boarding) and we've heard in news many times that there were quite a handful of innocents released from Gitmo camp. They were in prison for so long with no communication to outside that their secrets are hardly a threat to national security anymore.

When one does a massive terrorist attack on our country, do you expect things to be done by the book? No.

The Gitmo prisoners should not be treated/ or tried like American citizens unless they are Americans.

Having no communication to the outside is just part of the ploy on the Americans part. But once it becomes public, they (Gitmo prisoners) would be treated like martyrs and that is the last thing we want them to be.

so we should execute any suspicious person? or with a weak tie to terrorists such as blogger? Remember McCarthyism, Japanese Camp, and Red Scare? We all know Iraq War is illegal and unsanctioned by Congress and UN.

They should be treated under Geneva Convention. They currently are not.

Executing them will make them martyrs anyway.
