Two deaf-mute women yesterday complained to Police Precinct 1 that two unidentified teenagers molested and robbed them at the seawall in Purok Bag-ong Dalan, Brgy. 35 in Bacolod City at about 11:30 p.m. Sunday.
The women, aged 17 and 21, said they were on their way home from a computer café at San Juan Street when two teenagers approached and befriended them, Chief Insp. Jimmy Fortaleza said.
Fortaleza said they hired a sign language interpreter so they could understand the allegations of the complainants.
The women claimed the suspects invited them to dinner and when they agreed, they rode in separate trisikads towards Brgy. 35, where they again rode a tricycle toward the barangay where the alleged rapes happened, Fortaleza said.
He said police investigation verified that the four had taken snacks in a nearby store before the alleged incident.
The 17-year-old claimed that one of the suspects boxed her in the stomach when she resisted. She claimed the suspects took her P100 in cash and the Nokia 3210 cellphone of her companion, police reports said.
Fortaleza said the women were assisted by the Women and Children Concern's Desk personnel of Police Precinct 1 to the Bacolod City Health Office for a medical examination yesterday afternoon.*DMG
