TV shows and movies on PSN

*rubs my face* well this is still pointless. HDMI, CC decoder, etc...whatever. MS and Sony still dont give us what the deaf requires. Simple options for subtitles on/off in movies like same with DVDs but I guess they are just stupid or lazy to give us the movies in "dvd version" or whatever.

I don't mean to rub your face, sorry. I just explained it to you. They do but the problem is you haven't checked dashboard video tab and there is a subtitle/CC feature and only work on elite system because it has built in CC decoder. MS has all dvd movies that were DVDrip which is included CC not subtitle. If you want a subtitle, go to Subtitles - download DivX subtitles from the biggest open subtitles database. Need my help, just aim me.

Don't worry, this dude is really out of mind right now and just ignore him.

I'm agree with you about everything, however this dude called me a liar has no respect and knowledge of me, I had downloaded some video from marketplace and none of them are CC or subtitles, even I did called MS in last year ago and they said video store via marketplace don't have CC or subtitle support, that it, unlike on some movies via iTunes are captioned and model of Xbox 360 isn't really matters.

This dude don't know about me either, he has lost my respect.

Yea well dont worry bout it guys.

Now that we've heard about Netflix's going to be on Xbox live this late fall...we proably need Netflix account in order to rent movies from there on Xbox live but of course, I wonder if it would be better than Xbox live showing their own rentals and that Netflix movies could have the options to subtitles but who knows...

The way Defmatrixense explained, I can say its slighty possible since Xbox360 is very much related to the PC and uses Windows Media Center and such. But it's complicated.

I dont have Windows Media Center or Windows Vista for the videos.

Now as for PS3 and PSN, you can use Linux on the PS3 but I dont know about the possilbities of playing videos on Linux. It could be possible but I dont know cause I never seen or used Linux before.

It would really save us alot of time if MS and Sony can just put in movies that are like in "DVD versions" with subtitles options, special features, and such and it would definetly be a great enjoyment.

Yup, I would respect him if he provide exact link for more detail about CC/subtitle on marketplace, I just had followed about what MS told me, right now, he doesn't provide a exact link for detail.

I think that Netflix is stream movie like Hulu, require faster internet to stream on time, especially at 1.5 mbps, however I could be wrong but need check Netflix for more detail.

There's set box called Roku for watch Netflix via stream. (Kinda like Hulu style movie)
Netflix Online Movie Rentals - Rent DVDs, Classic Films to DVD New Releases

Some tv shows from Hulu are captioned, that how works when CC is integrated into stream movie.

I agree! It's disappointing. I notice they have the menu for subtitle there for the video but its blank. So maybe they'll do it?

I posted comments in the Playstation forums. I got a couple of ppl agreeing with me about this issue.
I just posted a question on how to contact Sony about this but just talking about the issue might be good but we need to take ACTION.

I complained a lot to Amazon about lack of captions/subtitles on their video downloads and only got a bullshit answer so far.

no subtitle or closed caption that been direct download from online until later.

NetFlicks Deaf Consumers

*sigh* I guess it shows there's not really alot of respect shown around for the deaf community.

It's almost as if they dont even need us for anything...hell, we did alot for them. we paid taxes, we worked hard to get what we need and what they need, and this is the thanks and respect we get? fuck that.

*shrugs* I bet it will pretty much be the same as Xbox live's netflix.

No subtitles/captions either so...oh well.

Of course, I would be very surprised if PS3 allows that but at the same time, I actually doubt it.

PS3 users can access netflix site for free as 24/7/365, however MS required xbox360 users pay membership for 12months, then can access Netflix site.

Yeah I am disappoint that ( netflex, Blackbuster, itune, others) Movie instantly steaming on PC, XBOX 360, PS3 dont available for subtitle or CC.. Grrr..

Yea like Pacman aka Foxrac said...we need to renew our FCC laws on closed captioning cause it was old..it was in the late 1970s to early 1980s, I assume.

Closed captioning law was started in 1990, only applies to all analog tv (digital tv isn't required until 2002) since online isn't included because in 1990, there's no broadband and no tv content via online either, even no HD until 1998 but don't become majority until mid 2000's.

It's part of Television Decoder Circuitry Act of 1990 and Telecommunications Act of 1996 (expand the closed captioning requirement for digital tv).
