tutor willing to help me?

i want to learn everything there is about webdesigning... but right now i have no money, and i cant go to school till at least in spring i think. (is trying right now but i missed all of deadlines for colleges and FA) i am bored and is having trouble of taking new step in webdesigning learning on my own. needs someone to help me. either online or irl in ohio .... its entirely volunteering thing because i cant afford to pay anybody for it for now... or even better... maybe someone can give me a goal and deadline and i try to make a webpage for someone then have them kinda correct it and tell me what i did was wrong, what i need to do better, how to improve, and what i missed what i need to learn more. etc. (i learn best by hand on experiences)

so any volunteering or any suggestions?

by the way im truly serious about this. i kept on making webpages but i kinda stopped in middle because i have no idea where to go or do. needs to go more farther than what i am at right now. im totally beginner here... havent learn php, html, etc... i want to though.
 
Can't help with web design but I do have a suggestion for getting help. Maybe you can barter your services for some professional tutoring. For example, if you can find a tutor, maybe you can offer to babysit, bake and decorate a birthday cake, clean house, shovel snow, clean out a garage, wash cars, paint a room, etc., whatever in exchange for "class" time. Bartering is a common way of exchanging goods and services without cash. My hubby uses barter for some of his customers who don't have a lot of cash.

I know a professional web designer/instructor who uses barter. She designs websites for small businesses who can't afford to pay cash. They give her services such as professional wedding photography, dog grooming, landscape service, etc.

'Fraid I don't know anyone in that area.

Maybe you can check the Yellow Pages for web designers, or ask other web design students if they can recommend someone. I think some ADers are from Ohio, but I don't know about Dayton.
 
Another idea... Ask your friends around if they knew of anyone willing to do with you.

I'd be more than willing to help you out as much as I can. I try to stay away from web design because of the time it takes to create sites. I'll admit that it is a lot of fun to design, I just can't seem to find the time. I was never good at arts and have had a difficult time putting the images in my head to paper when it cam to other crafts, but I somehow seem to do it with designing sites.

I'd be more than happy share tips, tricks, etc with you. I'd also be willing to donate some web space for you if your new designs need a home ;)

try trc here is called texas rehabilitation commision what they do is if you quilify they will pay for yout tution or tutor or college, but i dont know about the state of ohio or what they call it go to coolege dean of student and find who to go talk to .
 
already have that here already made appt for it but im on waiting list and wont make into college for winter semeter cuz already past deadline. so gotta wait till springtime

Why not try and find a job working and learn till that time comes up ok cool .

As promise, I respond to this topic.

I want to share about my experiences... when I finally get a computer for myself (several years ago), I want to learn how to webdesign but not sure how and where to start. I haven't ask anyone how (yep, I am a gutless and too much pride to ask for help) I went to the book store and skimped the webdesign/programming books until I found a book that will help me. That's how I start to learn how to design and programming. There is no one who teaches me, I did on my own for few years. I build up my skill to the point that I wrote several webdesign/programming tutorials for two communities (these tutorials took down based on my request because my friend and I am working on the site right now where I will repost my tutorials at). Honestly, you don't have to pay the school to teach you. IMHO, it is money-wasting. Actually, it is quite easy but of course it is depend on individual(s). Anyway, I can make some suggestions...

First of all, what do you want for your website? What is its purpose? What kind of visitors do you want to attract? What kind of content you plan to add for your website? I suggest you to make a list for it by writing on the paper or use MS' Words or Textpad to make a list. Don't "I don't need to make a list because I have it in my brain" thingy. Visual is the bestest thing to get started.

Secondly, once you make a list... make a web layout by drawing on the papers. No need to be perfect when draw, just sketch or 'doodle' Once you like the layout that you draw, put the stuffs that you make a list in the layout to see how it is. If not enough room or something, you have to make some decisions by remove few things or change the layout for content(s) to be fit in. If you don't have any idea what I am talking.. It will help you to construct the idea for the layout and content. Again, visual is the bestest. Also other tip: if you don't have any idea to add for your site. Surf the internet. You can start with this site: ComputerArts.co.uk. I can post a link for other site (community) for you to look up for different layouts & contents to get the general idea but that will be kinda advertising because I am a mod at that community so ask me about it thru AIM if you are interested to know.

Once you did these.. you are ready to learn how to make the web layout and etc. HTML is definitely the first language you need to learn how to make a layout which I assume that you already did due to your site that you showed me a while ago. I will explain more about these.. I have to stop due to time (I have to get up this early morning for a event)
