Do you hear your own hair crinkle?

do you mean rustle? when you say crinkle that reminds me of a sheet of paper. Or better example, sheet of tinfoil.

You're like my sister in law. Her hair gets like that too. :giggle: My hair will curl up in humidity but not like either you or my sister in law. And it curls up at the end.

LOL! I can go out on a humid day, and within 10 minutes, my hair has shrunk up by 2 inches! When I get it cut, they have to make sure they cut it a couple inches longer than where I want it to be because as it dries, the curl shrinks it up!:giggle:

just that my hair sounds so annoying when it brush against my CI (and HA)

Take a tape recorder and swipe your hair against microphone and you'll probably see.

Oh, I see now! Yeah, my son used to hate it when his hair got long enough to brush against his HA. When he was little, he used to tell me he needed a haircut because his hair was tickling his HA.:giggle:

well, I used to have long bangs in the frint. around 10-11 inches were my tops that I let it grow.

now its just short.

I can't hear the interference when I am unaided. Aided only if I intentionally & furiously shake my hair.

yeah... I just wonder if it is just us deaf/HOH who hear it because of the microphone

Now that you asked the question, I took mine down and let it brush against my shoulders. I can kind of hear a swishing sound as it brushes against my shirt. That was a very interesting question.

Sometimes I hear Rice Krispies because of my hair but when I'm combing or putting my hair behind my ear (sorry, I can't think of a better sentence for this. If I do, I'll go back and edit it) , It is really loud.

i know what you mean..it sounds crackly over the mics..this bugs the hell out of me..it doesn't do it all the time tho..but it is an annoying sound for sure

the sound i hate the most is styrofoam squeaky or rubberized plastic against something. like rubbing a balloon.

I hate it the most over all sounds even though it doesn't cause interference.

OMG!!!!! I hate the sound of styrofoam squeaking! It makes me have chills all over and sets my teeth on edge!

Not to mention fingernails vs blackboard. *shudder*

I can't hear fingernails on blackboard so that don't bother me at all... maybe I should try again

ok I tried it, I can hear the finger scraping on the chalkboard but i still can't figure why it is so annoying. It sound just like any other scrapes out there to me.

I can hear the Rice Krispies and styrofoam as were mentioned above, but only with aids. Without aids, I'm DEAF to the world. :) I do like reading how hearing people hear things - it doesn't make me jealous, it gives me a whole new perspective of what's out there. :) I'm forever asking my SO "does that make a sound" when I see something that I think would, and if he says yes, I ask him to explain what kind of sound. He's pretty good about it!

My hair rustling against my HA mics is so loud and drives me nuts, especially when it's raining and I put my hood up on my coat- all I hear when I'm walking is SHHHHRSUSSSSTTTLESSSSSHHHHFFFFFFFZZZZZZ. I never hear it make any sound unaided unless I shake my head a lots and I hear a low 'thunk' as it hits my head.

I was sanding down a wooden photo frame last night and the scraping sound drove me absolutely nuts- it made my teeth feel funny, I can't explain it.

if I leave my hair down, yes I hear my hair, so annoying! this is why I keep my hair pulled back everyday, no matter what.

When I was a health aid I had a client that wanted her hair wash , and
I had to keep rinsing her hair until it squeak! She drove me nut!
I kept telling her I can't hear your hair squeak , she finally squeak her own hair.
