Tips on to burn extra calories in your daily routines

Since the new year is approaching, many people tend to make new year's resolution to lose weight so I thought I would start a helpful thread.

This is a thread about stuff you can do that doesnt involve going to the gym, working out at home, or going to classes although it is still strongly encouraged by doctors to put aside an hour a day for exercise.

Instead, it is about ideas or tips anyone can contribute on how you can add to that hour throughout the day to burn extra calories.

I got two...


Park as far away from the building...the extra calories burned from the extra few yards can add up = no fighting for parking space as these spaces are usually readily available.

Return the shopping carts back to the food store after unloading the groceries in your vehicle instead of leaving the cart by your vehicle = it helps keep the parking lot safer for others who dont have to worry about hitting the empty shopping carts.

Any other tips you have? :)
 
Work abs or do wall sits during commercials. Each commercial is one set
Sit on an exercise ball instead of an office chair when using the computer.
 
During lunch time, of course in a better climate, just walk around for 20 minutes each day.

At my 2nd job, I have to do one of the resident's laudry and it is in the basement. So, instead of putting all of her clothes in a basket, I take them one by one to her room upstairs and hang them up. It kills time at work and burns off extra calories.

yeah thats a good one. I admit that I don't focus on the time saver at work so i focus on walking more than time saver. Like I have to print out something for my work and i have to get up and walk to pick up the papers then come back to my desk and back and forth that every time i print something.

You can say that it is such a waste of time but physcial things to do is NOT a waste of time. :)
 
Spend just 30 minutes on your exercise bike. That's all.

I always park AWAY from people... hate being crowded in.

I now play racquetball almost daily ;) Problem is.. I only walk around while delivering massacre to my opponents.
 
I try to convince the dogs to get up off my lap and go for a walk around the yard with me, but they are stubborn. ;)

oh cool you still play racquetball. I remember it was in late 1980s racquetball was very popular, and even for the deaf racquetball tournments. now I haven't seen anyone play racquetball or haven't seen the racquetball court. I do like to play racquetball but haven't play since 1990's :( So are your local area having racquetball courts around??

Yeah. We have several, the sad thing... I have to reserve days ahead - they're always booked.
 
take the stairs instead of the elevator
 
its better to learn about what food speeds up metabolism and what stores fat... then just eat and eat and excercise m hell even start sipping some beetroot juice...as they put in more nitrate in the body which makes body taking up less oxygen hence you're more awake and less fratigated(sp?)...
