Things to Do that do not cost much money

Hey all. I came up with a list of things people can do for fun that do not cost a lot of money and alot of them are actually free. I'd like to see the list grow so if you have ideas that are not on the list, feel free to add them on there. Let's see how long the list grows.

Hanging out Ideas ($10.00 or less)

Go to the zoo 6.50

Finding free things is my favorite hobbie!

Walk in the woods.
gather herbs for my potions!
(natural remidies)
play sleight of hand on alldeaf
attend sales at big car lots and eat their hot dogs and sodas free!
(never buy car though)
Go to Air Show at Rock Of Ages in McMinville Oregon
Swim in our river with kids
Take kids to Library on free movie day
Form Chess club at local coffee shop
Form Deaf Chat at local coffee shop
Go to Borders Book store and read books and have coffee
Cut Viny Mapel branches on our property peel and make walking sticks
Cut smaller twigs and show kids how to make lincoln logs home made
Build little forts with kids at river using twigs and rocks
Catch crawfih at river with kids (fifty make a nice poormans lobster salad)
peel bark off cascara trees to sell for making exlax (not only free but make money
and there is a real need for the ummm..... "End Product"
Collect moss off our property and sell that
Pick black berries off our property and sell them
more later
 
I collect wild herbs.
right now there is
Milk Thistle (good for liver health)
Stinging Nettle (good for allergies)
Comfrey (only use with skilled practicionere but good for goats and rabbits to eat)
dandilion greens (good for anemia and liver health)
rose hips (vitamin C)
elderberry (keep healthy during flu season)
I also make ionic silver water (a natural antibiotic)

You know how much cost of gas to drive there and return home. If car broke down cost me skyrocket.

Our local - movie ticket $9 unless I have date then double $
Pick good kite - cost me over $20
Picnic - cost of food plus drive to park
Go fishing - require fishing permit licence
Metal Detecting - to buy metal detector
Not understand - go to lake for $2. Our local lake are free but cost of gas for drive to there.
Free Concerts ?? - No way to sneak into building. They have many security.
State park $2 ?? - most are free park but cost of gas to drive

Ways To Go Around!

Build your own Kite - very cheap
Picnic in back yard or drive with friends and share fuel cost
(also make own food from scratch)
Go fishing on free fishing days when lakes are stocked (wekids to fish is free and kids under 12 don't need a liscense)
Make own fishing pole.
I would borrow my father in laws metal detector
Free concerts at local community and some private colleges
find instructions for making anything on internet (free)
Lowes offers free classes to kids for building projects
You can even find recipies on line to make your own glue to make your own kite with!:giggle:
 
Those are great ideas!

Cuddling up together is free.

For couples, a warm bubble bath together is a way to start the night.

Take pictures of each other with goofy faces to make it fun, You could do that with friends too. It's free and worth the memories.
 
free arts and crafts days at local libraries too.
free use of computer online at libraries
people watching at mall (my kids love this one)
attend junior high basket ball games free or very cheap
volunteer to be in local parades (fun!) several years ago
the library theme and float was "Don't Bug Me I'm Reading" So the
librarians asked my kids, ages 4 and 6 to dress up as lady bugs and
they got the thrill of riding in the parade all in costume. fun and free
and lots and lots of memories!

Mountain hiking (Plus water & snack bars)

Role playing
Free outdoor concerts

I am not joke - I know my town and next town.
Some places do not allow to feeding ducks & geese. At Moorestown, NJ - they do not allow to feed ducking because poop pollution & lazy to look for food & lazy to fly away.

still problem: many deaf people live in city or suburb - not great to see stars - best way go far away from suburb - still cost of gas.

Still cost of drive to beach, Hard to find car parking durung summer season. If, your car parking at wrong place - they may tow your car away or big fine

My cousin did call someone to tow cars away from their property. Watch out nasty homeowner.

3 or 4 players are no fun. Need more players.

Another way to make a free kite is using free local newspapers, and sticks from tree and a very long string. Just make your own kite. :)

pick newspaper from trash - still free!! but still need larger piece
Sticks are still crook (not perfect straight) from tree.
Still fail to fly!!!

My hobby was kite maker.
Right now, no time for my hobby.
