I don't see anything to be sick about.....

Sorry!

i cant stand fat stay at home all the time, and it will be missed fun all in my life.

I feel really bad for people who are this overweight because it comes with many health problems, pains, arthritis, etc. It is very hard to lose weight AND keep off it. I myself am overweight, although I'm nowhere near that obese. My back hurts sometimes. I've been eating healthy food in last few months and am starting to feel much better. I can't even begin to imagine how those people must be feeling..as some of them can not get thru the door, so they were stuck at home. I don't think that it is something to laugh at because they truly are miserable. They know that every time they go out, people look at them and some people are very insensitive about it, laughing at them. ADers, I ask you all to be more sympathic about extremely obese people.

This reminds me of what happened recently where this woman was stuck to her couch. Her body had merged with the couch and they had to surgically remove her from the couch. She died afterwards. :ugh:

Well said, Thank you Peachlady!....

Peachy Lady, I don't see anyone laughing at them. We're just commenting on their weight....I mean HOW does a person get that fat? It's really difficult to believe the size of some of those folks. I would never laugh at a fat person. I'm also overweight, and have been teased about being fat....however the difference between them and me is like the difference between a very small rain puddle and the Great Lakes.

Some people gained a lot of weight because they were compulsive overeaters. Some had issues in their private lives that they kept eating instead of dealing with the problems. Some were not "allowed" to solve problems, so they ate to make themselves feel better for a short time. Some were abused in one way or the other in the past. Some people had thyroid problems, as well as some health issues that caused them to gain weight. I am sure that there are many other reasons why they became extremely overweight.

Good heartfelt comments you've made in here PeachyLady.... ;)

Some of these peoples are looked upon as a disadvantage or cause others to wonder just how in the world that they could be like this...there's sooo many variants to how they became to be what they look like....and I would think the number one reason is 'depression'....I'm sure some of us isn't directly making fun of these ppls...yet, just like we have our own inner-feelings, they also have their own inner-feelings as well and it would be rather difficult to place ourselves in their shoes for the things they go through daily....

A great way to 'cheer' someone who's obese...like finding out that they lost even 'one pound' can make their day when complimenting them and encouraging them...even if they have a very difficult time losing just one pound...sticking with them by showing you are there to 'listen'...and help in ways you possibly can will go a long ways!! I think the general conception or notion when a person sees someone such as these pictures indicated...they'll go in the direction where there is a negative response....but if we were to sit back and think twice about this...perhaps we'll be more understanding of where they are coming from...instead of judging them from their outer appearance....it's like seeing someone with a face full of zits...one might tend to go...ewww...but when thinking twice about it...realizing that person may be inflicted with a skin disease, problem, etc...that isn't easy to 'cure'...just as with these obese ppls., they may think their 'cure' is to keep eating and close themselves from the world...which IS why I think their number one problem has to do with a state of 'depression' that each one of them is in....

You say it alot better than I would have Roadrunner, Well said honey! :ily:

Thanks RR and Angel :) When I look at people, I always looked at their personality first, not their physical appearance. In the past, I have worked with people who have variety of physical disabilities as well as mental illness and some deaf people as well. I just love spending time with them because I got to know them, not because of how they look. They have feelings and heart just like everyone else do. I have some friends who weigh probably over 500 pounds (I never asked how much they weigh) but I don't think about their weight, only their personality. They do appreciate people who are willing to spend time with them and enjoy talking with them. They all are in special place in my heart that I love.

Yeah, that one crossed my mind whilst reading up on that article. :ugh: I'm a bit overweight myself, but no where that FAT as those people. I certainly don't want to reach that 'plateau'.
It'd drive me nuts if I became stuck at home and can't move, etc. No way -- I like being mobile and going places outside the house.
