The Trio Game

 @ SB

Aw, drats, thought it would have been a difficult one this time. You have the correct answer, Botti ... your turnie :)

:ty: Ozzie :nono: SB

1. Born 1897

2. Arsenic and Old Lace

3. Mr. Smith Goes to Washington :giggle:

Another old movie fan? Your turn.

Somewhat, I just googled the information. We have it easy today. All information we have in at our fingertips!

as for new clues,

introduced in the latter half of the 18th century

stabilized by the 1880s

greater efficiency, compactness, less complex power transmission system, and reduced susceptibility to damage (especially in battle)

Let's see if I can get close with this guess: One of the explosives based on nitroglycerin?

Okay, let's try transporation. The field ambulance?

Another try to narrow the playing field: The development of the machine gun?

Just sayin', on bits of new evidence, some scholars assert Beowulf was a real person, king of the Geats in Lejre, Scandinavia, circa 570s.

Is the Dutchman in your clues Desiderius Erasmus?

I just learned about Beowulf. I didn't know. But your answer is wrong. Care to take another wild guess?

Extra clue. A painter.

Another wild guess: The only old Dutch master I can think of from the early renaissance of the 1400s is Jan van Eyck, though there must have been lots more in The Netherlands.
