The Trio Game

Thank you.

1. If called by a panther,
Don't anther.

2. Candy
Is dandy,
But liquor
Is quicker.

3. I think that I shall never see
A billboard lovely as a tree.
Perhaps, unless the billboards fall,
I'll never see a tree at all.

Nope, that is not the answer. Keep trying :)

My answer is a variation of one of Norcal's. The only Dutch-like (but not Dutch) Ottoman coins I can find in my coin book are gurushes.

Gurushes? Like Norcal said, spelling will vary.

Two more hints-

1. Comes in all kinds of colors

2. Alexandre Dumas wrote a book on it

Dumas wrote quite a bit on the value of bread and salt. I seem to remember salt as a form of currency in lots of cultures. Salt?

Wow this seems harder than I thought it would be.

No it is not diamonds.

Few more hints:

1. Indigenous in Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan and other parts of Central Asia
2. Resembles a turban
3. Can grow it
