Details coming soon.

Maybe a new word for DEAF too. The spoken word has a negative sound to it as well.

Sometimes I tell strangers I can't hear worth shit. Now maybe there will be another way to let them know. Cool.

Yeah, the sign for "Deaf" has actually changed a couple of times over the years.

yeah. During my MSSD days, the sign with five handshape was quite popular on the Kendal Green. It was signed by stinking your thumb in your ear and then moving all the fingers down like you would with the Donkey sign

When I was a student at VSDB, one dorm supervisor told me that the old sign for deaf would be signed from the check to the lips.

Imagine a circle with a slash through it. Now put the lips behind the slash. (Or an ear.)

Now put your finger where the slash is.

That's the half of the sign. May as well hold up a CircleSlash with an ear behind it poster for all to see.

Ha ha that's a good one.

I've seen different signs for the same word depending on where the signer was from.

But it sounds like PFH is talking about something bigger.

And then there is the old *ear* + *closed* sign.

I get where you are going with this.

I hope the new sign isn't staring at someone blankly. That would work, but takes too much time.
