HUH?? WTF are talking about ? I said the kid was screaming that his mother was trying to kill us . I guess you do not watch the news a lot . It was on the news that a child was crying for help.

Really don't know or made an opinion as to what punishment this woman should get....until more info is given/trial, etc....but as far as Susan Smith....she should have had a date with Ol' Sparky a long time ago....

Maybe there should be permanent billboards/signs/commercials...the whole she bang....saying..."If you don't want ur kids....drop 'em off at the police station or the fire department....even a Church"...then spay and neuter the parents!

She should have been executed a long time ago? :shock:
 
It'll be interesting to see how this goes. The prosecutor will no doubt argue that she was of sound mind at the time of the incident, etc. The insanity defense rarely works, you know. Also, they might draw up new guidelines to further empower the police. A cop stopped her and reported that she was wild-eyed, but he let her go, which led to the beach incident. Oh well, we will see.
 
I think the woman was mentally ill. Unfortunately, as the cop himself hinted, the laws are limited in how they can proceed in these cases. Until there's a 360 change in mental health care community that will allow a forced intervention, these things will tragically continue.

It definitely sounds like she had some psychosis going on, she could either have been bipolar or have schizophrenia and this could be her first big break with reality. Friend of mine had her big break with reality at the same age, she had one small psychotic episode 10 years prior and nothing again until blammo, shit hit the fan. She's been missing for more than 7 years now, probably closer to 10 so we all assume she's dead. She might also be having pre-partum/antenatal depression, which is similar to post partum depression except mothers get it while they are pregnant and it can be just as severe as post partum depression.

I think it's really unfair to say that this woman is at fault for wanting to murder her kids when she's very obviously has severe mental illness.

You seem to have a lot of hate towards a woman none of us know anything about. In all likelihood, it was postpartum psychosis. The newspapers aren't going to have all the facts because it infringes on her right to privacy. Maybe you need to step back from the story a tad. Unless your mental health professional, which I doubt, I don't get why you think you have all the answers.

I insist there must be some amount of lunacy to take another person's life. You don't arrive at the point where you shoot, slice, pummel, burn, drown, choke, etc, another human being without it.

The mother could just wanted to kill her kids and not be sick . I heard on the news tonight that was not tying to kills her kids, but the kids do not agree with that ,they said she was trying to kill them. I believe the kids and not the mother.

It's not hate. Not at all. Pls don't misunderstand me. That said I see where I could be misunderstood
If it makes people feel better to assume, she's crazy cool.
I'm going to assume she's just a normal run of the mill would be murderer until further notice.

I really want to know how they were able to get to the vehicle? Some vehicles have kid proof locks and window locks. How were they able to open window and/or door?

It's lucky that it wasn't any worse. If the Mom was thinking, she would have had activated kid proof window lock and door lock. No one would then be able to get in or out of vehicle.

The 10 yo old was able to get out car and yell for help and that his mother was trying to them. The mother gave some BS story about she was trying to get close to the ocean .
