The new Phonak Naida Q, I really want it!

Would they let you pay any difference if you want a different model?
They might; that's why I could swear they have a list somewhere of what brands/models they WILL pay for due to costs. The last two times interestingly only Oticon was 'recommended'- though I don't know if that's because of VR rules or because of the level of my deafness...

My Audi did day they won't pay for the top tier in any particular HA unless there are only 2 tiers.. The Naidas come in 4, I think. Basic, 50, 70 & 90. That's why I think I'll be getting the 70. As for the Nitros, they only cane in 2, 3 & 7, so I was able to get the top tier.
I'm happy to get any help. And Voc Rehab isn't exactly rolling in dough. They're in a situation where they can only help so many people, so I'm lucky I was one they could help.

Something you might find useful LoveBlue. I've got the Phonak Naida S III UPs and the Phonak Naida S IX UPs and I've got the exact same settings in both Naidas and I notice no different in my Naidas. I find I don't need to use the programs like ZoomControl etc as my SoundFlow on both my IIIs and IXs is set so well. So what I'm trying to say, having a lower rated Naida, doesn't mean bad hearing. :)
Up until I got the perfect settings, It wasn't so good but now I've got the perfect settings, they're great!

I know. The tiers are more about the bells & whistles. I have the IX cores now and rarely use some of the features.

Found out the other day that they're ordering the Naida UP Q 90. :)
Can't wait till the 19th to get them.

Got my fingers crossed for you that the date comes around quickly and hopefully you love the new Naida Q. Will your old Naidas, be a useful back up pair?

I'll keep them as back up, but not sure how well they'll be unless my audi can up the volume on them. I gave them a "testing" tonight because I was having trouble hearing a recording on the phone with my Nitros / miniTek. So I switched to the Naidas/ComPilot and noticed that things were not as loud.

I don't know what the max gain is on the core Naidas, but I think the Q's are about the same as the Nitros, so the new ones should have the volume I need.

Did you have a choice of case color?

Yes, I went with the blue transparent, of course.

So jealous...very cool looking

Need to go look at "skins" or covers at least- could have used them this past weekend I was sweating so much- wound up just leaving them off since my friend and I sign anyway.

I'm curious now. I thought the power of all of the Phonak UPs were the same. I'm gonna look it up. I'll report back here in case anyone is interested.

Thanks for those charts. Maybe I can get my volume upped on the old ones during one of my visits during the trial (may not have time during the next visit - I'm hoping she'll have time to do REM since the computer tends to give me too much bass).

I have the q50ups they are good I soon will get the compilet soon hopefully and a mic ! We will see what Hellen Keller where I go decides when I get them .. Love these hearing aid though !

I've got the ComPilot, it's good for music. I don't have it set as a remote control because it just confused the hell out of me with all the beeps etc, and as it's not set as a remote control, it means if one of my Naida UPs needed to go in for repair, I can wear my old Naida UP and the ComPilot will link to both (odd) Naidas so I still have sound in both ears.

When was the last time they were serviced and cleaned? Might be worth sending them in once you get the new ones.

Actually that's very true. I have mine cleaned internally every 6 months and I'm always shocked as just how well they sound when they've been cleaned/checked.

Got my Naidas today. Though blue, they're not as "bright" blue as the online pics :( But they're BLUE :)

Too soon to tell how good they are. But am glad to be rid of the Siemens Nitros and especially the miniTek.

Will be giving them a good testing over the next week in settings that I'm not in often but have the most difficulty. I'm going to a large group dinner tomorrow night where the tables seat 6-8 (at least the last time we went to this place), then a small group lunch on Friday at a pizza place near work. Meeting some peeps on Sunday and Wednesday for small meals and then a work luncheon next Friday where I imagine a large group of us will be sharing a long table.

Seems like a good test in plenty of time to be done during the trial period.
