The new Phonak Naida Q, I really want it!

How are your earmolds? I picked up mine last night and I'm having to have my left re made tomorrow as there is 1mm gap between mold and ear at the top which makes it pop out all the time. Driving me insane already :P Earmolds don't seem to like me :(
 
I need to fix my molds too they're is too much mold sticking out making my ear sore ..and I'm gonna ask my audi about the q as well today when I go in to ask them to fix my molds..

ewwwww I have that same thing with both earmolds this week and last week too but glad I cleaned it up with a quickie fix

The feed back you get from covering a digital aid is waaaay different than with an analog, I had more fun doing that with my analogs. One thing that I thought was cool about my analog that the digitals don't do is interference with electrical stuff. When I had them if I put my head by an outlet they'd hum, and some store alarms, for shoplifting, would make them hum. .

Ha! When I walk into the library at school, my hearing aids change programs. I think they change to the automatic FM program but it is weird. The library has those anti-theft things (Security Solutions : 3M Europe).
I'm really not sure of the exact program change because unless I'm in a study room at school, I don't use my DAI+iPod because all I can hear is my music and often people want to talk.
It is weird to have to give them the "stop talking" hand and then the "wait" hand while I cycle through the programs of my hearing aids.

Mine did the sameeee thing! It was so annoying I'd have to manually change it back to auto program. Was a pain in the ass...

Naida- I'm getting both molds re-made and more purple added. The audi was mad that I even left with them seeing as it took over 3 min just to get one in all the way. He said they should go on like a sock snug but not tight that you are fighting with them. So they got sent back.

They just smiled really big when I asked about it but said they couldn't say if it was coming out but that IF it was it would be coming out in april :)

That's crazy! Don't think I've ever had that before! At least you get more purple which is what you wanted :)

I got my Naida S only about 4 months after they came out and I've never had any bugs with my Naida S. I know there were loads of bugs with the Pre spice Naidas.

I tried to install iPFG yesterday, both 2.6 and 2.6b were just crashing and crashing. Oitcon's Genie worked like a charm :)

The Naida S and Naida Q do not use iPFG, it uses Target software.....

But the UP/SP use iPFG? I saw those options in the list. Anyway Naidas are great but the support stuff (streamers, software etc.) could really be a lot better.

Can you download Target somewhere?

The Naida Core SP/UP uses iPFG (came out in 2007/2008)
The Naida Spice Plus SP/UP users Target (came out in April 2011)
The Naida Quest SP/UP users Target (coming out April 2013)

As hearing aids get better, so does the software. The SPICE/QUEST Naidas will not connect to iPFG.

The Target software is not available for general public as its the current software.

And now, my audiologist is ordering the Q's for me. Though the Siemens Nitros are ok, we're having problems with miniTek, so she thinks we should switch back to the Naida's since I already have the accessories (ComPilot, TVLink & RemoteMic). I think it's more of a case that she's not comfortable programming Siemens and prefers Phonak. But hey, she's the one who recommended the Nitros.

As long as Voc Rehab doesn't try to get me to pay more towards them (they shouldn't).

Edit: And the best thing - I'm getting the blue transparent ones. Yay for blue! :D
 
Good Luck LoveBlue. I trailed the Naida Q90 UPs and thought they were great. Keep us updated. :)
 
I'm guessing I'll be getting the 70's since voc rehab is footing most of the bill.

They're already making me pay $1800 towards whatever ones I get. Since I can barely afford that (spread over 12 months), assuming I still have a good paying job after my current contract ends in mid-Nov, I will take what they give me.
