Well.....

My sweetie went for a job interview and they called him back for a 2nd interview. He went to the second interview and again--they wanted him back for the 3rd interview.

Anyway--he was hired by the company and had to take a Non-DOT physical test on the same day that he was suppose to start his new job (today.) He went for the non-DOT physical test and passed with the minor exception that he couldn't lift 150 pounds. Everything else was fine.

Understand that this is a desk job.....

He showed up to his new job with papers in hand and they saw that he couldn't lift 150 pounds and decided to rescind the job offer.....

That sucks sorry to hear that

That's not the gist of it....

He has CLL--chronic lymphactic leukemia which has been in remission due to medication. He was honest on his paperwork about his medical condition and yet--they "claim" that it was because he couldn't lift 150 pounds for a desk job.

Mind you-all he was going to do was sit at a computer on a daily basis.

So it is just quiet discrimination for their insurance worries.

And that is what I am getting PO'd about.

Because I am going to have to look for a job and my concern is taking a physical or drug test because Lord knows--I take medications for my heart and if the potential employer sees that--I'll be SOL (shit outtla luck!)

If lifting 150 lbs is not in the job description, he has a lawsuit!

HUH? 150 pounds. Not even the stock boys pick up more than 50 lbs without assistance from a co worker.

They are defiantly discriminating him due to his illness.

Find a lawyer. You would win that one. There has to be another reason. You have the right to ask for the reason in writing. See what they do with that one!

Byrdie has a law degree.
