It's not a real movie, it was an April's Fool Day prank by IGN.com. The moment I watched the trailer, it was obvious to me that it wasn't real. But I guess that's because I'm a movie buff. Still, the trailer was entertaining because of the fact that I grew up with Zelda games.

However, I do believe The Legend of Zelda can be truly a great movie if done right. But it's a real challenge trying to sell a movie based on a video game these days. Just look at movies like House of the Dead, Mortal Kombat, Bloodrayne, Super Mario Bros. and more.

They always end up in the wrong hands. If they are ever to make a movie on Zelda, they better put it in the right hands and make an epic out of it.

I saw that too.

Every Zelda game has it own story and that's what makes each game great in its own unique way.

If they were to make a movie, they would have to follow a game closely or come up with their own unique storyline... which of course, will end with the Tri-Force! ;)

I saw that trailer a couple days ago and also figured it was a prank. Heh!

But, hey... we can dream. ;)

I have to admit that the action-packed shots were pretty cool. Especially the one where he fights a monster.

That's why it can work quite well as a movie. They don't have to continue the series with true sequels. Just make a brand new Zelda movie every time. Like they do with the 007 series.

They can write a brand new storyline rather than adapting a storyline. If they were to adapt one, it would be pretty cool if they did Ocarina of Time or Twilight Princess.

But I think it would be even better if they had some of the people from Nintendo come up with a brand new storyline and work with the best writers they can find to work on the script based on Nintendo's ideas and such.

Who knows, a movie could be made into a game... ;)

If they keep the plot very close, then it would be good.

Seen that before, it make me wonder what are they think. I mean, it look like they spend lot of money to make thing become april fool prank. Gosh!

They were probably paid to do it as a promotion gimmick for their company.

let me get this straight

link is the name of the elf looking warrior whose quest is to find the princess

and the princess is named zelda?

Yep, that's right.

I've wondered the same thing before I played the game.

When I first saw the title, I thought that the main character's name was Zelda and that I would be using that character. Later, I found out that it was Link that I play with and Zelda as the "damsel in distress". ;)

Think about how many clicks on April Fool's IGN got just for this Zelda video. I'd like to think that was their goal all along, to get a really high number of clicks/visits onto the site. It's like any entrepeuner doing something extra to sell a few more baseball tickets.
