It is one of my pet theories that the only reason Global Warming finally got traction was the fact that so many superrich people have oceanfront property in their real estate and investment portfolios.
After watching them over the years it becomes easy to observe the way they operate.
"Hmm this might cost me serious bucks I better get the Prez on the horn and tell him to do something about it" then it morphs into "Hmm how can I milk the regular citizens out of billions of dollars by working the government on this?"
Then there is the call to various right wing think tanks, "I need your brains boys, we got a live scam here to put government money where it belongs .... ha, ha, in my pockets! Big tax deductible donation coming your way... ha, ha".
"What I cannot buy the influence I need? By God I Can't Have This!! Where is my list of Supreme Court Toadies!! Grrr...".
Timeout to call rich buddies, "Yah you just can't good help these days!! But listen up if we act together we can pull this off... chuckling... sip of fine wine... mmm for the who's ever under the desk... Lets call ol' Murdie and get media angle going on this!!".
