There has been to many problems in this forum with racism in the past. If your around people who know your humor and don't take it as offensive that is one thing but to make a blanket statement in this forum is another

Yes—I see your point. I should have taken the public nature of the forum into consideration. But was my remark in any way substantially different than the jokes that VamPyroX and I were making yesterday about killing Deaf people? Or the remark that you made a few months ago about shooting all hearing people? (Which, by the way, I’ve used a few times with both Deaf and hearing people—and it has provoked a laugh every time). All of these statements were clearly made within the context of comic absurdity—they obviously were not intended to be taken seriously. Where does one draw the line between insult humor and a blatant cultural attack? Nobody on this message board would ever think to post pro-Nazi literature, for example—that would be clearly outside the boundaries of proper decorum. But at what point does a disparaging statement that that is clearly intended as humor cross that boundary?

You were making fun of yourself since you are deaf, and I was making fun of myself since I was hearing. People can easily see that and find the humor in it

Actually, my ASL sucks. But I’m working on it. There’s a signing chimp that lives at a wildlife refuge about a half hour’s drive from my house. I’m going to try to get out there this spring and pay him a visit. If I get some good shots of him signing, I’ll post them.
