The 120 years of National Geographic on 6 dvd-roms..

Wondering if anyone besides me got the newest 120 year collection of National Geographic magazines on dvd that was released last month?

This morning I finally realized my dream of having 120 years worth of National Geographic magazines and it took only 6 dvds to make that a reality. Plus its cheaper to boot after all I spent only $60 for mine compared to a need for HUGE storage space and a $25,000 investment cause the first issue (October 1888) is worth like what $15,000 a wealthy collector would pay for.

Now I gotta toss some stuff outta my HDD so I can make some room to copy all my 6 dvds without swapping em back and forth on the dvd drive.

$60?! How long are they offering the DVDs for? Just in time for holidays, I bet. I wouldn't mind it as a gift either *hint,hint*

as long as there's enough supply. The good thing is that its upgradeable as National Geographic will add 2009 issues in March for only $10. If I had bought the old 1998-2003 editions, I would be pretty much fucked cause they are not upgradeable and they were spread over 20+ CD-ROM's compared to the 6 DVD's for the 2009 edition.

I plan to get a external HDD to copy all the discs to it then give the DVD's to my daddy for xmas as he's a National Geographic freak.
 
I didnt aware that you are fan of National Geographic.. Me too, I am fan of National Geographic since I was kid.. School was influenced me, thats how. however I threw it away for more space storage.

Wow, its good deal 60 bucks.. I will get it someday..

Interesting how that only adds up to 720 issues... 12 issues a year X 60 years... hmm... beats having PILES of yellow bordered magazines stacked up in the attic or basement.
I'd think that's a great deal at $60 bucks. Nat. Geo has been a fantastic magazine that nobody wants to throw away because you learn SO MUCH from them and you can always use them for reference... their photography has ALWAYS been one of the BEST in any publication.

Way cool.
 
really it's more like 1,440 issues at 12 issues a year for 120 years. That's a bargain! lol

I think my girls are going to be in for a surprise when I give em the December 2009 National Geographic and then show them December 1959 on my computer..imagine their eyes heh (considering both are born in the 21st Century)

Oops mis read... thanks for the correction. Still that's a lot.
I've tried to save issues related to caves and caving. Having them digital will make it easier.
 
I remember..... about 8 years ago, they sell National Geographic CD for $119 then drop to $99 then reduce to lower price. I want to buy one but never order one.
