Texting/walking just as dangerous as texting/driving

I believe that NJ has a new law that doesn't allow texting while walking across a street. Therefore people are allowed to text while walking anywhere except across the street due to the accidents you mentioned above. So yes, it's dangerous that way. It is not that hard to stop texting while walking across the street. I don't know why those people don't do it. Addiction?

We don't need to be wasting police resources with ticketing and court time.

The only exception I would support is ticketing a texter who caused an accident.

It would be one thing if it was just someone that posts once a week or once a month. But ChicagoBlue had been posting threads almost every day and he would also reply to a bunch of other threads. And it didn't help that he asked banal questions like how do you personalize your house etc... it just gets old after a while.

RR you shared your terrible story here and I shed many tears. I don't know anyone and I mean anyone, who had a childhood like you. You are an amazing person, I love your sense of humor. You brighten many of my sad days with your upbeat, funny self.

FYI the humor of the situation was picturing a 6 foot man with 12 inch arms......like T-Rex. We tried over and over again to explain, but he just kept insisting, and posting pics of his very long 12 inch arms. We weren't being mean to him, he just wouldn't listen and grabbed a shovel and dug himself a hole. But whatever dude.

Comparing that thread and the teacher one is totally different. I wasn't "defending" someone, I was agreeing with someone. You may or may not have noticed I'm opinionated, and I don't change my opinions to satisfy other people. I totally agree. God what did people do prior to cel phones? Who is actually that important that they can't put down their phone for a few minutes to cross a street, walk in the mall etc.

I had a horrible childhood too and I know people that had worst a childhood than me. I am sorry you had a horrible childhood but you really have no idea if your is worst than anyone else here.

I had my phone out the entire time I was grocery shopping earlier. I put my list in notepad, and every time I got something on the list I deleted it. So I was looking at my phone and stopping for a few seconds to delete items.

I btw did not crash my cart, run over any children. Nobody was injured on my shopping excursion
