When parents seek a private school, especially a religious one, for their children they usually seek out one that matches their beliefs so that there won't be any conflict in what the children learn at school and what is lived at home. I don't know why parents would choose a school that would teach against their life style. It seems that would cause constant conflict and confusion for the children.
Exactly. Why would the parent put a child through that?
Seems like they did it knowing, they would be rejected and to get media attention.

You may disagree with the policy, of course, but legally it's permitted. Private schools do have the legal right to establish admissions criteria.Nope....totally diagree.
I can see.....all-boys
all-girl
all-catholic
etc.
But not.......all-white (we have a few in Texas)
all-black (we have a few in Texas)
Just because a school is private does not give it the right to discriminate, just look at a golf club called Augusta Gold Club (home of The Master).
They tried the "private" route through court and got their ass kick and turn around and became non-all-white.
I agree with you.....there are clubs that don't allow A-As nor women but that is because they have not been sued yet. School that are al-white or all-black don't need to be sued....the Feds are suppose to immediately take care of that by bussing the other race to the school to even the balance. But then this is not the 60's anymore.
As for Augusta...no, I don't have the membership list before mebut a friend of a friend of a friend said that they do nonimate blacks now. FYI
Augusta does..... but because the PGA was refusing to host the annual tournament there......not because of a lawsuit.
Shoal Creek in Alabama had the same ultimatium given to them..... They said bye bye. Although they now have 5 African American members and are hosting a senior tournament this year.
I have never seen an African American when I have played there however.
It's a private school, so they can set whatever criteria they want.
As much as I dont like discrimination against any groups, I have to agree with the others...it is a private school and that's their criteria. The parents can go somewhere else. Probably better that way instead of trying to fight the school to accept their child.
I had no idea Tracy could be a man's name.

Furthermore, why would these parents want to send their kid to a school that has morons running it? It doesn't bode well for its curriculum in encouraging kids' healthy development. Next.
