Hi,

I'm a student looking to interview 3 individuals with hearing aids. Your participation in a brief, 7 question interview will help me learn more about working with individuals with hearing loss as a future speech language pathologist. You may participate by answering the questions below. Your answers can be emailed to me directly or posted as a reply to the thread. Thank you in advance for your help!

1. How long have you worn your hearing aids?
2. For how long before you got your hearing aids did you suspect you had a hearing loss?
3. How long do you wear your hearing aids each day?
4. Do you feel like you get benefit from your hearing aids?
5. What complaints do you have about your hearing aids?
6. Do you feel like your hearing aids have lived up to what your audiologist or hearing aid dealer told you they would do? ​
7. Did you get your hearing aids from an audiologist or a hearing aid dealer?
 
1. How long have you worn your hearing aids? since I was almost 3 so about 24ish years
2. For how long before you got your hearing aids did you suspect you had a hearing loss? I was 2 when my hearing loss was discovered, I had meningitis which caused it
3. How long do you wear your hearing aids each day? all day (unless I decide to turn off the hearing aid so I can get my CI only practice in)
4. Do you feel like you get benefit from your hearing aids? in the right ear, yes.
5. What complaints do you have about your hearing aids? feedbacking
6. Do you feel like your hearing aids have lived up to what your audiologist or hearing aid dealer told you they would do? yeah
7. Did you get your hearing aids from an audiologist or a hearing aid dealer? audiologist

1. How long have you worn your hearing aids? Since I was 2 years old


2. For how long before you got your hearing aids did you suspect you had a hearing loss? I was born deaf with retinitis pigmentosa from my family genes.

3. How long do you wear your hearing aids each day? It depend. I didn't wear hearing aids at home when I was kid. I can wear them at school because the hearing aids didn't help me hear better. Off on Off On off on. I joined to Deaf school and not wear them that much. I didn't want to deal with Deaf Kids's scream so loud.

4. Do you feel like you get benefit from your hearing aids? I wasn't happy with them. No longer benefit for me

5. What complaints do you have about your hearing aids? Hell yes! I hate the earmold, beep sound, adjust the new earmold every years, I can't hear any sound that much.

6. Do you feel like your hearing aids have lived up to what your audiologist or hearing aid dealer told you they would do? My audiologist said I was good candiate for cochlear implant. Hearing aids is not problem the solve to hear better for me.

7. Did you get your hearing aids from an audiologist or a hearing aid dealer? I got them from Riley's Hospital in Indy. I got different audiologist in my whole life.

2. For how long before you got your hearing aids did you suspect you had a hearing loss?wen i was in 9th standard as my hearing loss was very mild n at present me of 22years so it took me 6 years to decide about hear aid
3. How long do you wear your hearing aids each day?almost whole day,i take them off only i go off to sleep or shower
4. Do you feel like you get benefit from your hearing aids? yes i have alot but still not at very satisfactory level
5. What complaints do you have about your hearing aids? i am using starkey s series i9 cic n it dont have bluetooth feature
