M5 tunnel is a pretty long one there.

There's a tunnel that goes under a river in suburb south of Vancouver, BC. There's lights on the lanes, too. :)

Yeah, but it helps shorten the trip quicker.

Unless they have totally changed it since the hurricanes a few years ago, I remember driving down A1A on the East coast of Florida from West Palm Beach to Fort. Lauderdale and the road goes under the intercoastal or something. When I took a friend, we managed to get there as a sailboat was going over the tunnel. Awesome sight!!

- shudder -
I hate bridges, the higher the worse. I will go waay out of the way to avoid them if possible. It is hard to drive over bridge while holding breath and controlling tingles with one eye closed. (it has been a source of lots of scorching from family) My uncle said that as a baby I cried over the whole Mississippi river bridge. I believed him.

Maybe the tunnels would be ok. It looks better than a bridge for sure.

The scenery outside these tunnels is so pretty, pfh. Just beautiful.

What if you have to cross the bridge with no other alternative route, what would you do?
