Yeah, Eisenhower tunnel, some two odd miles under the divide.

Yep, and it's one of the highest highway tunnel in the world. It's at about 11,000 ft or so.

They have to constantly plow the snow off the roads as well.

Nice diagram of the tunnel.

Did you notice loss of power driving at that high elevation? The highest elevation we drove was at 10,500 ft in Utah....we noticed lot of power loss due to thinner air.

Yea. I notice a lot of gain when I go down to 2000 feet as well.

The highest I've drove was 14,000 feet

This is the video to the Sydney M5 (motorway 5) tunnel underground and yes, it is one way, these tunnels goes underground and is piggyback with another one going the other way. When you see the cars going over a bridge - there is an overview to the Sydney International Airport.

This below is the Sydney harbour tunnel (SHT), that is alternative route to the other side of Sydney - instead not crossing over the Sydney Harbour Bridge (SHB), this tunnel goes under water while driving and no there is no view of these fishes
