T-Mobile: we probably lost all your Sidekick data

No where in his post he suggested any of us to remove batteries from the devices.

Rebooting doesn't cause you to lose your contact info/data. It will if you removed the batteries out.

Who said about remove battery?

Isnt this good news?

T-Mobile USA releases official statement on Sidekick outage, $100 gift card

Dear valued T-Mobile Sidekick customers:

We are thankful for your continued patience as Microsoft/Danger continues to work on preserving platform stability and restoring all services for our Sidekick customers. We have made significant progress this past weekend, restoring services to virtually every customer. Microsoft/Danger has teams of experts in place who are working around-the-clock to ensure this stability is maintained.
Regarding those of you who have lost personal content, T-Mobile and Microsoft/Danger continue to do all we can to recover and return any lost information. Recent efforts indicate the prospects of recovering some lost content may now be possible. We will continue to keep you updated on this front; we know how important this is to you.

In the event certain customers have experienced a significant and permanent loss of personal content, T-Mobile will be sending these customers a $100 customer appreciation card. This will be in addition to the free month of data service that already went to Sidekick data customers. This card can be used towards T-Mobile products and services, or a customer’s T-Mobile bill. For those who fall into this category, details will be sent out in the next 14 days – there is no action needed on the part of these customers. We however remain hopeful that for the majority of our customers, personal content can be recovered.

Sidekick customers can continue to visit T-Mobile Sidekick Forums (Sidekick? - T-Mobile Forums) on a regular basis to access the latest updates, as well as FAQs regarding this service disruption. The Forums also offers tips and suggestions for rebuilding content on your device.

I thought this share with you as must know there is what's going on from Tmobile..

my quote for it is "battery removal= just plain stupidity" that's what happens to everyone who struggled to figure out the sidekick problem and i blames on t mobile for not announcing the warning more sooner period and to add the insult to us is micro$oft was so.... dumbest i ever seen for not backing up the data first before storage server upgrading, talking about the importance of raid array and second fail safe server that would have took over if primary server fails adding to the meaning of the word "redundancy" i feels that they has learned their lesson in customers are 1st priority than themself

LOL you little stubborn, eh. I still have my mind open to lots of options of buying which mobile that fits my budget plan. I don't travel that much due to being a mom to two kids and working mom. Thats why i rather buy a reasonable price for mobile and then the cheap fee monthly.
:D

again thank you for sharing this of your preferred G1 mobile. Is G1 under Tmobile but not with the danger server right? lol

they are under Android is software company and is operating system (like Danger, Inc. was for SideKick)

Yeah, both of Android and Danger, Inc. were (or are) sort of like half-siblings, since Andy Rubin and others co-founded and started both companies.

VW BUG- I just want to say, you can’t put the blame on tmo for this. Microsoft is the responsible one who running the servers that stores the information, therefore it is their cause sidekicks are having so many problems with data loss.

Thanks for the heads up. I wouldn't give up my sidekick until it goes die on me but i hope not. Sidekick is an innocent and cute device. :giggle:

I had read today's newspaper about it. It said that T-mobile has temporarily stopped sales of Sidekick devices.

TMO cannot escape the blame for not communicating with its customers soon enough. Service was out for several days before any text msg was sent. I expect TMO to adequately compensate its customers for this loss.

Brian is right. I have spoken it with the saleslady from T-Mobile. She said yes.

She said I will get a refund this month and they will apply 2 bill cycles but after that, I don't know what will happen next. So, stay tuned.

Actually, it's not T-Mobile's fault because they didn't know until recently.
