The manual transmission do beat auto transmission but DCT beat manual transmission.

I've heard about them in the Porsche 956/962, never driven one. I'll bet VW is one of the few to install them in their vehicles.

Im too, I thought it was a Golf when I saw it last few years ago. I didnt notice it ,no wonder. I last heard that the Rabbit's production were stopped in 1980's.

Hey, I grabbed a note to write down the Rabbit's VIN and VECI, Here is:

2007 VW RABBIT 2.5

I saw a deaf tech pulled a engine bank cover and turned it updown, unscrew
the air filter housing's cover. He checked air filter, looked ok. Too much work on the air filter but a customer requested to check air filter. I dont like the air filter (size 17"X5"X1 1/4") that stuffed under the cover. Bad design.
The engine looks nice, yeah I counted 5 intake runners.

Come on! You can't tell wrong model because of same engine? GM has same engine for Buick, Chevy, Pontiac, and other and it's ok to tell wrong model because of same engine? :aw:

We hate four doors and it very bad for three large dogs, groceries food, and big item. The 5 doors is perfect for everything like mid-SUV.

Jetta does not have 5 doors but Jetta SportWagen done.

I don't know why they put a 2.5L 5 cylinder in a Rabbit while Jetta, Golf and Beetle uses the same engine. Rabbit was supposed to be a fuel efficent car with a smaller engine.

Cool. Just get a VW Polo and it is around 70 MPG.

More like we don't do diesel like the Europeans do. I wish we would because there is so much great potential there.

I understand what you and Highlander are talking about the 2.5L motors in Rabbit/Jetta. The 2.5L engines have 2 different engine codes (IDs). I guess they are standard/high performance verison. I ll check the engine codes then try to update you guys this Monday.

Not just Europe, but other countries like Costa Rica, etc etc. Costa Rica has plenty of diesel cars and trucks.

Yes, absolutely true. Europe is possibly most similar to the USA because it's a highly developed industrial area.

Yes, Mostly diesel engine almost three times torque more than gasoline at same size engine due turbocharger.

I read diesel magazine about Chevrolet Silverado use 6.6L Duramax-powered. Nice to know that Ford use Silverado's engine.

I know that. :) That's the torque of a semi truck in a small package. Maybe that Mustang would pull a semi truck trailer. :laugh2:
