I admit nothing of the sort. It is right there in your post # 320. I am the one who did not use the word. Yet you assumed, through your statement, that it is what I was thinking. Again, you are interjecting your own interpretation on my words.

I learned ASL first -- started at about 1 1/2 years old. Speech followed shortly thereafter. I continued with 15 years of speech therapy. I still have a deaf accent but it gets better all the time. Anyhow, I was very much a loner when growing up so all my spare time went into reading books. I was reading college-level books by age 10-12 or so .. I think all the reading I did is what has made my vocabulary and English be what it is today. So, I'm not sure how much of my English is attributed to learning sign first and developing good speech skills after, versus all the reading I did.

Alleycat - very good point there (in bold).
I was pretty much the same way as u (aside from the learning ASL part. i didn't take a class in ASL until college). i had my nose in books ALL the time and i do wonder if maybe that's a big reason why my vocabulary is at such a high level. perhaps it really is more of an individual thing.
I still have a deaf accent too, lol. we always will because our hearing will never be 100% even with a CI. unless perhaps sometime in the future technology has another break through. never know! :hmm:

Yeah. Lets go back a couple of pages to the post where I provided links and quotes regarding TC that I was asked for. Seems those were conveniently overlooked.

it's still never going to be 100% unless there's a technology that can correct our "defective" hearing at DNA level.

I never touched the books. I, instead of the books, joined discussion groups to make myself useful. To learn how to understand one other and how to speak loud and clearly. But you girls are right, Books are the methods to improve your English and your vocabulary, NO JILLIO, YOU HAVE NO SAY IN THIS. But for me, I used a different method, I had to repeatly use the vocab every day to jam it on my brain, better than post it on my forehead. Haha.

I never said you used the word idiot anywhere which is what you claimed I did in post #320. Now you have backpeddled and said I made an assumption. I agree with that. I did make an assumption but nowhere did I ever say you used the word idiot. Me claiming that you said something and me making an assumption on your path of responses are two entirely different things. You stating that I said you used the word idiot is entirely incorrect regardless of weither you see it that way or not. If you now want to put a spin on it and call it an assumption, that I will agree with.

I said you interjected your interpretation onto my words. Go back and read the posts. And interjecting your interpretation, and stating that I "must" think something that has not been stated is, indeed making an assumption. In order for you to have any substantiation for accusing me of thinking that you were an idiot, you would have to provide evidence that I had actually used that term in reference to you. That is why I asked you to show me where I had used the term. You could not show where I had, and therefore, your accusation of what I "must" be thinking is totally unfounded. Now do you get it?
