Like I said earlier, I know about him, he's nothing but a criminal. Serves him right but I do THINK that choking him is NOT the proper way. It's NEVER is because it invites abuse of power.
And another thing.. that deaf boy is illegal. He was not born here. He stole a lot, on a daily basis.. basically survive on stolen items.
choke holds have actually been outlawed at a number of states and citiy police forces. the choke hold can either cut off the airway or stop blood flow to the head. matt hamill needs to do more choke holds !! he has not won with a submission yet.
Yes, definitely answers the questions. The guy is a scumbag, deaf or not. But, a chokehold is still excessive force. You, of course, don't think so, but a majority of this board and the population disagrees with you, and so do many police departments and state laws.
Anyway, I have very little sympathy for the two deaf guys at this point. If what you've posted (it still needs to be verified by independent investigation and eyewitnesses) is true, then these two guys brought the situation completely on themselves and were possibly even trying to use their deafness as a way to get out of the act. Thanks for setting deaf awareness two steps back, morons.
Jiro, there would be no point in doing a half-assed chokehold. It wouldn't really do much, but there are lots of different kinds of restraints you can use on someone.
why? I don't feel sorry at all - not one tiny bit. Would you still feel sorry for him if he robbed your house?
I feel sorry for security guard because he got fired for doing his duty. Excessive force? Comical. Forever 21 management is a bunch of pansies and they're sending message to public - "c'mon! rob my store and we won't detain you! I'll fire whoever stopped you! Heck! I'll pay you million dollars lawsuit settlement if you got injured by security guard!"
What a bummer!....Since he's a repeat offender, he'll most likely get prison time.Guess he's got what some call "butter fingers"...has a habit of snitching things he wants, but can't afford to pay for....Lock him up!
So it's more of department policy ban... not state law ban. I am aware of how dangerous it is and I understand but I am not aware of state law ban on it. perhaps you can show me the link?not sure exactly where the chockhold is banned. it is also called a sleeper hold, cut off blood to head or air and they usually fall asleep. but they died too often so got banned. in philly penna it was a cop favorite until people started complaining. i have also done the citizen police academy where they discussed stuff like this.
I've done it during sparring and fighting. the last time I used it - he nearly blacked out and out of desperation, he popped my foot. it still clicks. I still use it and I will use it again if necessary.try it some time,
I've already told my stories about cop incidents. it's at http://www.alldeaf.com/general-chat/72039-do-you-trust-cops-2.html#post1457271 and http://www.alldeaf.com/general-chat/78861-have-you-ever-been-pulled-over-cops.htmlyou can teach your local police how to approach deaf people

law 101 - keep your mouth shut. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.
He didn't fight back. why? because the security guard wasn't really choking him. He was "locking" him in place until the police arrives. See how the suspect was all calm (not gasping for breath) when he was handcuffed by cop? That means he wasn't really choked to death nor was in a great fear of his life.
same as above. it can and will be used against Alejandro.I was referring to Pablo's interview. Alejandro was the one who was arrested. I am questioning a journalist's job. If he asks Pablo a question regarding Alejandro's history, then why didn't he show it on the news?
Alejandro and any other people (hearie and deafie) should be aware that the arrest would be painless and quick if they do not resistChoke hold is not a popular topic in Southern CA. LAPD and SDPD have long history of choke hold from 80s to present. It is extremely well known LAPD has a choke hold ban policy except in life threatening situations for years. That's why many stores in CA have a policy against it due to many reasons, including lawsuits. Security guards should be aware.
He looks fine to me (and little bit out of air). From what I see - he was trying to get his attention. to communicate with him. Beside..... at the very beginning of the clip.. just several seconds later, the chokehold was released and the security guard pinned his left arm back. Why did Alejandro continue to resist?Alejandro's face turned purple due to lack of oxygen. He kept patting on a security guard.
"Our internal investigation has shown conclusively that the security guard approached and identified himself to the suspect after the light and sound anti-theft alarms were triggered. The suspect visually acknowledged the guard and then turned and fled the scene. According to media reports, the suspect was arrested and charged with robbery and shoplifting by the LAPD. We recognize that the security guard used excessive force, which is against our store policy and have suspended him indefinitely," wrote Kristen Strickler, Forever 21 Marketing Dept.
in other word..... fired perhaps? Even if the security guard was in clear - I doubt he will be working there again.
Suspended.......If they fire him.....then he will be fired.
I guess it's a typical PR move. If you fired him - that would mean he did something wrong.
I guess they'll fire him after he's cleared of wrongdoing.
Or reinstate
mostly store have serious strict policy no stealing from store if got alarm they can arrest or suspended from store for one years or banned!! You saw on tv TLC Mall cops
