Ssi?

Yeah, this happned to one of my ex roommates. She is severely mentally ill (in and out of the state hospital a lot) and needs SSI. She used to get SSI in the past but her father always took all her SSI money and spent it on himself, etc. SSA found out about that and cut off her SSI, now she can never get it ever again, she's been permanmently barred from ever receiving SSI ever again, even thought it was not her fault at all, her father used her. It doesn't matter if it was her father's fault, she simply is not allowed to get SSI ever again. Now she has to live on a $170 check that she gets from the state (not SSI). That is all she is allowed to get now. Nothing else. I tried to encourage her to fight to get her SSI back, but she refused. Oh well. Very sad.

That was so unfair of SSI to cut her off, no wonder too many innocent people suffer because of fraud. She should get a lawyer to fight to get her ssi, not right her to live on so little of money while everyone else living high.

I told her to get a lawyer and all that but she refused my suggestions. Well, it's her loss.
