SSI and a Cochlear Implant

If you get the implant will SSI cut you off of benefits? or does your status change to SSDI?

You can't get SSDI until after you've worked.

No. you are still deaf with or without CI.

whew that's relieving to know thanks guys. I know I'm still deaf but didn't know if SSI would consider me deaf after implant.

Had one implant for 2.5 years and continued to get SSDI benefits. now I'm bilateral, so far still getting the benefits.
