Err...define 'goatroper' for me, please? I probably will go and check it in the dictionary, but want to hear it directly from you. :D

It's because they caught me practice roping at my uncle's house because he had goats with horns. I was like fourteen at that time.

2 years later, I became the 2nd place teamroping at "Old Fort Days" rodeo in Fort Smith.

Here is a photo of team roping..

Heheh...cool, SG -- although I've never done any lassoing, I don't think my heart'd ever be in it as I don't like 'hurting' the calves or any other animals with that method.
I've grown up with horses and discovered different ways of enticing a horse up close so I could get the halter on their heads without scaring them. I was all of 8 years old! :P
I remember going to this free riding club called 'Halleck Creek Riding Club' . It was for disabled people -- it gave them the opportunity to ride a horse and have fun. My sister and myself were the only ambulatory people (besides those who were carers of the disabled individuals, parents, and owners of the club)
Ange and I'd beg our parents to take us out on every Saturday morning before 6AM...about 2 hours before the club actually opened, but the club owners didn't mind cos they knew us and allowed us access to the paddocks and catching horses for them, feeding, grooming and then saddling them for the day.
I miss the club...the club land met with director George Lucas's property in the San Rafael hills -- near Ignacio/Point Reyes, California.

Cheers,

Goldie
