Spelling Bee

How many of you actually think Jazzy should fight back!!

I am with you in this case!!

Above all, deaf people have to fight for their rights, otherwise they ain't getting anyting!!

I know that from experience!!

Guys, where's your support???

Hoping you will fight back as that is the only way we can get rights as deaf people!!

Kashveera

Your son should be in the contest regardless of his fingerspelling skill. I can understand that the judges are afraid that your son will cheat somehow with finegerspelling--for example:you mom is in the audience and fingerspell correct answers while your son look at you. But no way judges can miss that kind of cheating anyways. Your son should be in the contest and if caught cheating, get thrown out--I am sure he won't cheat.

I just found out from my son told me. He was not allowed to be on spelling bee contest because he knows how to fingerspelling.I taught his class some sign language for one year and none of them were allowed to be part of it.

Any of you deaf parents of hearing children, do they get a chance to particaple in spelling bee contest?

That's totally unfair, your son should be allow on the spelling bee and I agree with the others, you should fight back on this, fight for your son's rights!!

call up all the news stations that will change their minds right quick

Good Idea!!

The media is the most productive way of getting simple things across to what I call very "intelligent" people especially politicians!!

Yes..some people do that and it WORKED! I would do the same thing! Call all news all over in my area. TOUGHIE! It is still unfair and he don't get a chance to experince in spelling bee.

its still wrong to keep him out of the contest.. just cuz he know how to fingerspell.. but some words are hard and sometimes dont know how to spell thats why i said word then - dunno how spell.. then laugh? so whats the difference? im sure the kid dont know ALL of the words? alots of words are hard?? thats bullshit.. jazzy should fight back and talk to teachers, principal, if they wont listen.. then go to Tv media and newspaper and tell the world you think its not fair that he shoudl be in contest regardless if he know to fignerspell or not.. jeez. i hope you can do it! Good luck!

Hold on those horse.
