Yikes!! Too dangerous!! Pretty sure a powerful aftershock would've had them collapsing.

I'm in north georgia and I felt it too. Fortunately it wasn't that bad, my house trembeled for about 3 seconds but damn that was freaky

The natural disasters lately are never stopping; I got slammed not twice but three times with bad winter weather and now this freaking earthquake. I don't want to know what's next!

wow insane and they STILL BUILD TALL BUILDINGS, IT IS the land of KAMIKAZES!! LOL

i have uncles, aunties living there , and a NZ-born Niece engaged, living there in Tokyo...and some cousins, haven't counted...

Newish buildings in earthquake zones are built to withstand strong earthquakes. That's why they were swaying, not collapsing.

Maybe all that snow and ice is putting pressure on the ground causing it to shake. LOL!

If you guys would be so kind as to take your earthquakes back there (and those up North, please come and take your ice/snow storms too).

What's next? The Plague? Locusts? Famine?

The farmers and cattle farmers are having a hard time with the drought they're having this will affect everyone when the price of food goes up.

My state get earthquake too , we had one a few years go on my city , it cracked a lot water pipes that where very old. The earthquake was not very strong so S.C. could gt some damages water pipes too if they're old.

funny saying 'outstanding' or extraordinary its like being too nice to nature's fury....would replace "shocking from the rocking of the Earth" and "Terrifying as biblical Hell has raised from the grounds"

just my rant to 'the way too neutral tone from an inaccurate selection of words'

We had a earthquake years ago , my mom was in bed and she felt it , my older sister and I where visiting some people who had 2 parrots. We where all in the kitchen talking and out of no where the birds freaked out and flew across the rooms. They where on their perches at the time. We had no idea what frighten the birds until we got home and heard on the news we had
an earthquake. There where 4 people in the kitchen and none of us felt the earthquake , only my mom who was in bed. It was not a very strong one.

We live in the Lowcountry of SC, and we didn't feel or hear anything. We had a smaller earthquake a few weeks ago, and I did hear that one. (Our earthquakes make more noise than vibration; it sounds like a heavy object, like a tree, hitting the ground.) The ones we have that are noticeable in this area are epicentered close by (with 10 miles).

I was in 2011 earthquake when I lived in DC and it was 5.8. I can felt as floor moves, so found it was earthquake and ordered all of us to got out of building.

After experienced with earthquake, I prefer earthquake with less than 5-6 over tornadoes/hurricanes.
