Sorenson pay back $15.75M to FCC for improper billing of TRS Fund

I never signed incentive program, I decided to choose Sorenson 9 years ago and stick with it. Never bother with competitor incentive, and you forgot that almost 6 years, I see it all the time, and that is why I avoid getting into mess in the first place.

care to show me this so-called Sorenson's ETF stating that they can fine you $300?

Exactly, same thing that is what is called ETF, most telephone companies have that contract.

Remind you, I used to work inside VRS for more than 5 years. That is where I have experience from. I have heard and seen plenty of stories from customers. Nothing new really. What needs is real education that is all. If you wish to port to another VRS provider to get free gift, your bound to sign the agreement whether you signed on paper or though electronically. Don't you know that all VRS equipment and software will always remain property of particular VRS provider. Those that get free gifts can keep it, usually up to 2 years and stick with same VRS provider then afterward you keep that free gift and can port back to whichever VRS you want to choose. But, if you decided after say a year, you either return that free gifts OR pay ETF, usually half because you have been with them for a year, less if more than 1 year and close to 2 years. Its pretty much sliding. Again, nothing illegal about it.

The only thing that I know is illegal is when VRS blocks you from port to another provider if there is no agreement to retain with default provider.

No, not just Videophone, things like free Ipad, Free Ipod free gifts things like that is part of ETF.

ah-ha. there we go. you'll get slapped with ETF only if you got a videophone from them.

How did a topic about text-based providers returning funds turn into a heated discussion about video providers?????

I am guessing its because Sorenson name is mention in the topic and everyone who advocates for other video providers companies want to jump to bash the name?

Most of you are going wayyyy off topic here .... Start a new topic if you want to continue this bashing.

ok however this thread is about TRS, not videophone. there is no ETF for TRS.

you will owe ZVRS an Early Termination Fee, or “ETF,” of $495. That ETF decreases after 12 months in the following manner: if you port more than 12 months but less than 15 months after receiving the Z phone, the ETF is reduced to $200; if you port after the period described in the previous clause but less than 18 months after receiving the Z phone, the ETF is reduced to $150; if you port after the period described in the previous clause but less than 21 months after receiving the Z phone, the ETF is reduced to $100; if you port after the period described in the previous clause but less than 24 months after receiving the Z phone, the ETF is reduced to $50; if you port after 24 months, you do not owe an ETF. You may also return the un-damaged Z phone to ZVRS instead of paying the ETF. To initiate the return of the Z phone to avoid paying an ETF, you can email help@zvrs.com or place a point-to-point call to 866.932.7891. If you fail to pay the ETF or return the Z phone, ZVRS reserves the right to take legal action and/or disable the Z phone.

after 2 years, I can return it back anyway also, I think I'm former Sorenson for over 3 years. switch to Z-20. Save my money

The Z ETF agreement says that if you return the equipment then there is no charge. I think Sorenson is the same, or used to be.

Geez.. When I switched VP-200 to Z-20.. Sorenson woke and heard I switched port to ZVRS. They alert to Sorenson sale men and women VP me for offer free nTouch PC. They VPed me twice. I told them I've had enough I don't want to many add VP! I hung up. I believe it's "Videophone Wars"
