Something sticking out of ear mold?

I got new ear molds around a week ago and I have never seen this before. There is this thing sticking out of the mold... I don't know what it is but I want to cut it off. It's just there to help you pull the ear mold out of your ear, since you're not technically supposed to pull from the tube. :)
 
They are on there to help pull your earmolds out as the earmolds are so small.
